yeah, i definitely agree that the "sounds like" clue is up for debate. i'm not at all convinced it goes with the knock knock jokes

Maybe it has something to do with the order the prepositions are in?

That's an awfully long list...are there any prepositions missing?

According to the wiki, the only unsolved elements are langshivel.gif, muses.gif, margaret.jpg. What if these are all part of the same riddle. I found a few holidays on january 25th:

Robbie Burns day (possibly also Robert)
Tatyana's day? (that page is bizarre, and it might be tatiana).
St. Dwynwen's Day
some important events on jan 25

The resulting filename I suggest is of the form {name}(s)_preposition(s).wav or preposition_{name}.wav. I've tried a bunch but haven't found anything.

The wiki has not been updated. Margaret and Muses are used up.

I don't think English has a definitive number of prepositions. I've been googling around, and some places say there are 150 or more. OF course, that also gets into multiple word prepositions--none of which are on the list.

Capital letters

I see that almost all the clues were in all capital letters (excepting the knock-knocks) - as a result I don't think that is part of the puzzle.

I agree that we are missing a clip. I believe this is a record for how long it has take to get the last puzzle.

The Fireflies Wiki was updated at 3:18 p.m. (PDT). Personally, I disagree with thebruce on this, but since he put "SOUNDS LIKE" with one of the "solved" clues, I'm not comfortable moving that one until it's proven wrong.

(By the way, I've tried assorted variants of proposition(s), deposition(s), supposition(s), mission(s), omission(s), and fission with no luck so far. Bah.)

I agree with detayl that SOUNDS LIKE goes with the prepositions since they both start and end with hyphens.

so... prepositions stand by themselves (or with sounds like)

therefore, we need TWO (or more) words that sound like "prepositions."

"SOMETHING positons", maybe?

I tried a lot of these (including, most obviously, "prep-positions") but couldn't come up with one.

I've been trying to pair up the words, like this:

ABOVE / BELOW
BEFORE / AFTER
OUTSIDE / INSIDE
FROM / TO
WITHIN / WITHOUT
OVER / UNDER
ALONG / ACROSS
ON / OFF
AGAINST / TOWARD

...but I'm not sure where I'm going with this. Confused

Nova, try removing certain types of pairs - for example, what is left after you remove all the "true" opposites like over/under? Anything useful in what's left?
