i just had a creepy thought. there is like a 98% chance someone from bungie reads everything we say; so they know if we think 41=ai or whatver. But what if they also play along. Maybe they are suggusting things that are totally off in the wrong direction, and we think it's a genius idea and get all screwd up. LOL that would suck, but it'd be funny Confused

The SPs hint says "WHAT" was my least favorite person. I don't think it could be her previous name (except Operator, because that's more of a label than a name, and it does fit nicely into the "sounds like" clue). So I think that cuts out Yasmine, etc.

Quote:
So, riddle me this: what was my least favorite person, before she became a Queen?

One other thing, because I'm not so great with grammar. The subject of the sentence is the Queen, right? Otherwise, we're not looking for a variant name for the Queen. We're looking for someone else entirely that the sleeping princess hated before the queen was around. I don't think it's right, but I thought I might as well put it out there.

And if it is being read correctly, than what was the Queen before she was the Queen? Nothing? Nonexistant? I don't think nothing is a preposition, but...

nothing_between? or nothing_between_us? I can't check them cause of my work comp, so if someone wants to check real quick. *shrug*

i think this may have been a hint. I know it was so we could reference what the hint was for; or at least thats what it first apears like. Maybe there is more to it... just a thought

Okay, I'd like to try to organize this a bit and put some facts down so we can stare at them. All of the puzzles so far have been what we thought they were. There were reasons for the "big chicken" and there were hints pointing to its importance, as an example. Likewise, everything surrounding this puzzle is purposeful.

Here is what I have been struggling with. They are not answers, or definitive but the great minds on this forum will without a doubt focus it. Let's decide on facts. I will place percentages of each clue's definitiveness in brackets.

There is a list of prepositions [100%]
There are 41 of them [100%]
The list is between what seems to be lines [100%]
The lines are made of minus signs [100%]
There are 10 minus signs per line giving us 20 minus signs [100%]
The word "between" is between 20 prepositions [100%]
A minus sign is an operator [100%]
An operator is between two values [100%]
Prepositions occur between a verb and a noun [100%]
The list is tied to another clue [90%]
This clue has the same format (all caps, in between 2 lines made of 20 minus signs) [100%]
The SP's clue is a riddle referring to this puzzle [100%]
The Queen was not previously mentioned in this puzzle [100%]
"SOUNDS LIKE" is used in Charades [100%]
When reading this list we are reading between the lines [50%] (we may be reading between the minus signs)
Without sounds like about [100%]
Signs sounds like lines [100%]

I think if we add to this list and fine tune the percentages we will get the answer.

First off I can't believe this thread is up to 60 pages. Shocked

I don't know why no one has said this, maybe it's because I'm wrong, but she specifically says "so you don't have to be under and over and beside yourselves anymore". So me thinks this means we can disregard the puzzle, and just work on solving the riddle. But then again she does say it's an "Official Hint". Do you think they could change the name of the wav so that the answer of the riddle opens it up instead of the puzzle? So long as it still fits into to the dialouge that is.

Next question:

How come when I try yasmine.wav it gives me an error instead of just going to the 404 page?

... but just because the statements are definitely true doesn't mean they're relevant. :/

On the minus signs=operators angle, I tried to "subtract" words from the ones before/after them, removing letters they had in common, but no luck there so far...

well the Queen might have been a Princess like the SP so it could even be 'me' or something similar, perhaps that is the start of the wav name...??

[SPEC]Maybe the reason I get an error when I try to download the yasmine.wav is because that was the name of the original file, Yasmine does sound like between.[/SPEC]

Although I don't know why Herzog and Rani would be talking about Yasmine.

Actually, you shouldn't get an error...you should get a sound clip, because it's from the recipe4 page! So "Yasmine" is NOT the answer.

(still don't know what IS, though...)

Well, the first 30 or so pages also included the other puzzles. I just renamed it to help with focus. Smile

What was she? Was she a human being? (human_being.wav does not work) Was she a spartan (that failedand was recycled)? Was she a flash clone? (Dr. whatsername used a flash clone...)

Or, how do these AIs think? Would she have thought she was the ship?

Or could this be a little trickier - was she crazy? was she sad? broken?
