[SPEC] What Melissa Means By Teams

Written: Late Thursday Night

On Tuesday, Melissa made many comments about teams. Specifically she
stated that teamwork and large groups would be rewarded. She also went
on to say that this exercise was to determine how her crew would operate
if for some reason she was no longer around.

I, for one, believe that the PMs have done a good job of laying down the
ground work and then following through.

At this point, we have a number of "crew members" who will receive calls
from Melissa and have had a drill on how to coordinate. How likely do you
think it will be that, this week or next, we will not get a list of axons but
instead a number of calls to "crew" that give axons and times and have to
coordinate on the fly?

Any other ideas of what it could mean for us?

Yeah, it'll probably be something like the pass-phrases we saw this week, except maybe more complicated next week. 4-way pass-phrases?

Those axon hunters with live chatter -er, chat- connections will have the advantage.

Also Melissa stated in her conversation with Lt.Adam/Zudini: "The next time I contact my crew I need them to be prepared to tell me a way we can find out exactly where [Dana] is." http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6816&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

The only thing that comes to mind is monitoring the voicemail account, and tracing the call that comes in to check the messages. Simple for an AI, right? ("How hard can it be?")

My gut reaction was to tell her about the Blog. I mean, it's not connected to the actual ILB site, perhaps Melissa doesn't know about it yet. But monitoring the blog for Dana's updates...

I think the PMs are planning some kind of multi-national thing, that will have no prior warning (apart from these snippets of clues).

Well, I hope they give me something to do here in Dunedin, New Zealand, so I feel more useful instead of sitting around doing nothing but farting at Daboking![/sub]

Well, whatever it is, we were tested on Tuesday. And while we didn't exactly pass with flying colors, we DID pass. And by the end we were getting the hang of it.

I don't think the PM's were awed by our coordination abilities, but they did get the point across. Razz

I for one hope, for all of you outside the states, that this does provide more opportunity for international folks. Wink You have provided some incredible spec, but I know it fun to get your hands dirty once in a while.

I started a sticky thread over in the Axon Coordination forum to facilitate planning for another Passphrase Tuesday. If you have any thoughts on organization or can volunteer to cover certain tasks, wander over and drop a line.
