Time?

Everyone is going on about all this happening in some other world... What if it's just happening in the future? The cube could be some form of time travel device which has been stolen and hidden in their past (our now). This would explain some of the comments on the "shoes" mail.

perplexity pic

I wish you would have described the pic before I went looking at it.. jeezzzz. ick. I hope that's out of game. For other curious folks who don't need a shock before their morning cheerios, I'd skip that link. Its a pic of someone with a razor blade sticking out of their wrist. Crying or Very sad

All Apache web servers seem to have an icons directory, which for some reason is usually public.

I mean, take http://www.apache.org/icons/ for example.

Just a brainstorming thought. If you view source on http://www.perplexcity.com/ and http://www.perplexcity.com/indexB.html you'll see the coordinates for the hot spot links.

The easiest method to make these graphical image maps it to make a simple square with just two coordinates. The coordinates for these pages have many more numbers.

Could the images be placed just right so the coordinates themselves are a code?

And a square is a lot closer to a cube than a circle is. Would they be trying to stay away from anything resembling a cube for any reason?

I'm new here. Hiya!

If I had to guess, I'd say that was a bathtub, what with the drain and all.

Hopefully I'm not echoing anyone here, but I did a dictionary search on the word "Syzygy" and got this.

syz·y·gy ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sz-j)
n. pl. syz·y·gies
Astronomy.
Either of two points in the orbit of a celestial body where the body is in opposition to or in conjunction with the sun.
Either of two points in the orbit of the moon when the moon lies in a straight line with the sun and Earth.
The configuration of the sun, the moon, and Earth lying in a straight line.
The combining of two feet into a single metrical unit in classical prosody.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Late Latin szygia, from Greek suzugi, union, from suzugos, paired : sun-, su-, syn- + zugon, yoke; see yeug- in Indo-European Roots.]

Dunno if there'll be any connections here, but they had to have named it that for SOME reason. Just thought I'd get that out there.

Anyone fancy having a go at destegging it? (It being the razorblade pic)
I would but I'm not so great on the destegging front.

I had a bit of time on my hands today and took a closer look at the words in the academy logo. It looks like the fourth (starting from Adamek) word/name likely begins with an A, has 6 maybe 7 letters, and could just as easily end '...oon' instead of '...een' (the letter preceding these is probably an n or m, but looks more like an x to me in pp7, but it's hardly clear). Anmeen or something.

No real idea what it could be, and I'm sure at this stage even if we knew it'd be pretty irrelevant, but I was bored :D

Likewise the first line of the Oct 14th 'bounce message' about Project Syzygy started:
Quote:
From: Sandbox Mail Transport Daemon (build 19650602)

1965-06-02 is very probably a date - but of no obvious relevance right now.

Well, that will be the build date of the software, most *nix distributions use this as a identification of when it was compiled. Doesnt mean much i think its just a attempt to make it look more real Smile

My feeling is that it's London. Partly because of the close-up shot of just the word 'London' on the fifty pound note and partly 'cause I live here and it feels like London (the buildings across the street from the balcony and a little down the road have a Victorian brick terrace look to them).
