that link works fine in Mozilla (you should switch)

Also that pic of the airport is almost certianly CG... artists interpretation.

The collage looks like its taken on floorboards (those in the last pic) a bit messy?

I initially used firefox and it didn't work...
the image might be CG, but it should give us in idea of what the main gates of the arrivals/departures look like.

Airport

I've e-mailed Ataturk Airport with the picture we have and asked them if is them. I'll see if I can find a list of the top 100 world airports and send the same e-mail out, we might get lucky!

Grey bits

Arthureld,
i think the 'grey bits' are there to obscure the writing on the 'Airport' picture Dunno

i am still a little fond of my own "aeroporto" idea, so i did a little diggign around.
take a look at these picture from the verona airport (aeroporto verona) in italy:
http://www.aeroportoverona.it/eng/pages/informazioni.htm

the floor could fit, if shot from the right direction, and as i said before, the letter count of "aeroporto" would fit to. also, the last three letters in the first word could be "ona", so there you go...

I agree completely - the floor and the building style is VERY simular! Great find Wink

Wasn't the first postcard found in Bologna Airport? That might fit. Don't know if it really looks like that, though.

So much for my idea that it was Helsinki!

i completely forgot about the postcard in bologna. interesting, because the last three letters could also be "gna". but i can't find a pic from bologna airport that fits.

then again, bologna and verona are both in italy. hm....

i just asked my co-worker, who has been to various airports in italy. he doubted it was verona (but he could be wrong), but said it could be rome. rome has an airport called "fiumicino" or "leonardo da vinci"... oh well... Rolling Eyes

Along the lines of Italian airposrts,
the picture certainly reminds me of the airport in Milan.
Since Milan has 2 airports, let me be specific: the Malpensa airport in Milan (code MPX, I think).

Yet, I haven't been there in a while, so my memory might be messed up.

It *certainly* doesn't look like the Cristoforo Colombo (Cristopher Columbus) airpot in Genoa, Italy. I am sure of that much Smile

Yeah, but my recallection of MPX (from last summer) is that there are different floors in different areas.
And I think that the areas with shops had a lighter coloured floor.

Might be a wild goose chase though: they had a lot of work in progress at the time and the place might really look different today.

PS: nice pictures though !

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the pic doesn't look like an airport? I mean, there's no runways, there's huge gardens, and it looks to me like there's sports pitches in front at the left and right. Looks more like a campus of some sort if anything. Anyone able to say for sure if this is the airport.

The site that the image comes from is some Ukranian air travel site and it has a list of all the airports they seem to have flights to here (Ataturk is listed as Istanbul Ataturk) but on the page for Ataturk there's no mention of anything that seems to be on the picture. Looked around http://www.ataturk.com but couldn't find any confirmation (or anything that looks like the projectsyzygy.com pic).
