Here is a visual of what he's talking about:

So, basically, we are looking for strings of ten digits that are white.

I am trying to see if there is any pattern in their choice of strings:

"String" here = 10 consecutive digits in e (for example, the first string would be 2718281828). You can see that they omitted the 3rd, 7th, and 12th strings. So, it looks like the next omitted string would be the 18th one; but that means that string 15 shouldn't be missing - and it is Sad

Of course, an easier conclusion to make is that, since the 10-digit numbers are in increasing order, the next number has to be larger than 9457138217. So, I tried 9551702761 and 9699679468 and then gave up Smile

And the easiest conclusion to make is that there is no pattern (yay, go pareidolia Razz ), and this is all there is for now Smile

On the indexB image, the bottom lest picture, with Sente's signature on it, they words you can see reads "find the colleagues". Maybe we're suposed to do something with that? I cant imagine what though

On the indexB image on the second one down on the left it appears to be divided into names placed in alphabetical order and the latin part all in lower case.

I can make out Zeller, Taversen, Noi and something which looks like Adamet or Adamek.

All the names are equally spaced between one another and have a capitol letter starting them and the gap between the last name and the latin and the end of the latin / first name is a lot bigger than between what i think are names.

not sure if thats anything helpful though....

noob here.. I was surfing around, reading up on ARG, I forget why, and then found myself falling into a fresh rabbit hole... So, I am taking the plunge (which may be slightly damaging what with all the deadlines((ARG!!))) But heck, this seems more fun the RL. So, I guess I wanted to say hi to ya'll, and whatnot. Also, syzygy, is it dead? And also, is this as fresh as it seems? New game material?

Newbie here. For now i'm just following along, but i saw something no one had mentioned yet...

The quote at the beginning of sente's letter: "Keep that which you value close; better to be vigilant than to rely upon the kindness of strangers."

"to rely upon the kindness of strangers" is a common allusion to the 1951 movie A Streetcar Named Desire. It's a quote from Vivian Leigh's character, Blanche DuBois. Obviously this has little value in the game; i just thought it was remarkable (and admirable) that a reference to a classic movie was included (although due to the prevalence of that allusion, it may have been unintentional).

Milday: I dont think its merely a neat allusion. It may prove to be something within the game context, in terms of philosophical.

Number patterns, kill me, hit me with a fish, but (602) sounds like Arizona, well, you get the idea....

just like the Arizona axon enhottentators: "go hot or go home"

re the chatter about shoes in the errorlog

Elizabeth Lee says

"but do you
think we could try to get, I don't know, patterns for them or whatever? "

and

"[Anyone know a good shoemaker in the Old Town?]"

does this mean they can only study us but cannot get here? else why dont they just buy the shoes (or steal them) instead of getting patterns and finding a shoemaker in old town.

maybe they need the cube to travel (spec) thats why they need us to find it for them

i could be talking a load of cobblers of course Very Happy

I was about to reply I thought that it just meant Elizabeth had come up with some shoe design and they wanted to make patterns of it, but then I re-read everything and I think your spec's on to something . . . . . hrmmm, interesting . . . . .

. . that pun, however. . . .

this is probably absolutely nothing but...

Sente says hide and seek in his letter with quotation marks around the hide and seek. Theres a film being released in 2005 called hide and seek.

Could be nothing. I mean if the phrase hide and seek isnt used in their world that would warrent quotation marks but i thought i'd post it anyway Smile

Going back to the "e" series- I've created an excel file and a text file with the first 60 ten digit segments in e. I think it will be more helpful than an image of the numbers. I've tried quite of a few of them without any success. I'm guessing that there is nothing else to find at the moment but that this will come in handy in the future.
