thanks Phaedra! I am well out of college... 33, but I have always had a love for languages. And BTW, I think you make Hoshi look like Thin Kinkle in comparison. Wink

So, according to johnny_Nitro's SPEC, I'm a personality from the future who has traveled back in time to interact with people from now over the internet....

Wait a minute, why does this plot idea sound so familiar? Smile

Okay, not only is that adoreable, but I think the kid is giving the camera the finger...

And that's even more adoreable!

I have not heard a reply about setting up an axion. Did anyone set up a new axion and get a response back yesterday? I sent my pictures in around 8 pm moutain time, I hope I didn't miss a deadline or anything.

Okay, so a friend of mine got me a pic of six that Melissa accepted while I was still here at work.

Just after work I get a call from another friend, with a plan.

If you knew Royal, you'd understand why I started worrying. Nonetheless, I drove to one of the larger malls in the area to meet him and other friends to try to see how many people we could get. The plan was simple. Royal is easily amused, and usually has more money than he knows what to do with. He handed out fistfuls of ones, and we hit the mall, theatre and nearby uberarcade in short order. We'd gotten there late, so there weren't as many people as we'd hoped, but we managed to get 17 in one pic.

It reinforced something I'd forgotten about, because I haven't had to use the trick since collage. People will go to unusual lengths for one dollar.

I submitted pictures of my daughter and I for scuba and music. Here is Melissa's response

Excellent work, Corporal Sobian.
Your scuba gear appears to be somewhat outdated. However, I
understand that after the crash, we are all working with less than
ideal technology.
Submissions accepted.

Did anyone submitting a pic for the rank and file position get a reply from Mellissa yet?

Another Failed Attempt...

I am not sure what I did wrong....I sent a pic of me by a phone, of me saluting by a phone, one showing my skill, a second one of me saluting by a known axon phone....and nothing.

I will post my skill photo since I was overly pleased with myself. Wink

might as well put mine up too...

As long as everyone else is jumping off bridges & posting pictures, here's the one I sent yesterday.... I look 12yrs old on my ID photo.

In a related note: becareful of having other tend to details for you. I had some 'friends' submit a pic & here's part of the message they sent:
the company I keep wrote:
Team 455h47 reporting as ordered. We we're recruited by ensign pikalek.
It seems Melissa did not take offense though

I wouldn't worry too much if you didn't get a positive response from Melissa. That doesn't automatically mean you got rejected. I didn't get any feedback for my 42 crewmembers (which I think I actually miscounted, so it's something like 41, but whatever). Then again, I had already submitted pictures twice earlier in the day and had them accepted. But submissions three through seven got no response whatsoever. So maybe they just decided this confirmation deal was a hassle.

Also, not to be a party-pooper, but it's not like translating Samesian is impossible or anything. Should point out that that dictionary is egregiously out of date, however. Grand prize to anybody who can properly pronounce number 23.

I stuck a secret message in my pic. Of course, I didn't get confirmation, so it may be irrelevant.

I stuck a secret message in my photo as well, and I got a successful confirmation in about 4 minutes.

My dear boy, I can pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch.

So Samesian really doesn't distinguish between singular and plural?

I submitted my picture under Rank and File because it was the only option not opened at the time. I received a confirmation in roughly 5 min.
