Technical Help Needed --> wavs and iTunes I try to open up the axon files, but instead of taking me to another page, it keeps opening my iTunes program and then it doesn't play at all. What can I do so that iTunes doesn't set itself as the default player for wav files? Or any other advice would be fine. Thank you.

Open a directory in explorer that has a wav file in it, right-click and choose "Open With...". Choose something else (mplayer2, say), and check the "Always open with this application" box.

The problem is that the wav files are actually mp3s, so iTunes attempts to play them as wavs and screws up. If you change the extension to mp3, they'll work fine in iTunes.

Also, that will help with the problem of burning them to a disk.

Thank you! I was about to try and recode them as MP3's. Thank you!

Wait how does one "change the extension to mp3"?

To add to the fun, the mp3s are set at 24 KHz, which means that if you try and burn them to Cd, they will NOT burn, but will give out noises instead.
I have been doing a project of re-encoding the mp3s over to the correct frequenciies (another trick is to clip out the first 1/4 second, for some wierd header stuph that does things to cd burner software I think), and have been able to get them to CD. right now, all the files up on the ARGn assdembled files take up 3 CDs. I dont have enough hosting, but if I can meet an orange county Beekeeper who wishes to host the entire CD images, I can hapilly hand over a set for that purpose. I figure it takes about an hour each wave to revamp (slow computer).....
the 24 KHz is interesting because the older high standard was 48 Khz, before audio went wild at 96. CDs are at 44.1 KHz, so the numbers get neat at times .....

He meant change .wav to .mp3 in the browser.

And just to be extra double special clear: that is as easy as renaming the file.
