Our correct answer to that question, by the way, was the Covenant. So no, even though Dana has been a concern to her, her mission-critical enemy is a much bigger dog. I just don't see the end-all be-all as being Dana-centric. I just don't buy it.

Agree, she even seems to be moving off that path:

I thought it was an odd comment at the time, and seemed to indicate Thin knew something about Jan.

I think this more refers to Thin guessing, or rather assuming that she, (Jan) was/is part of some group or gang or whatever. mostly [spec].

What about when you add it to this one:

Ever since I heard mention of the 1.1s I keep asking myself if thin might not be one of them also... but if that is the case then he either sucks at moons or he let her win (knowing something?).

Thought I'd add my $.02

Very interesting. Fits in with some earlier spec on Gladys trying to set up a crew of 1.1s. However, I must consider it as unsupported spec because Thin has displayed no special abilities to date though. There is much data supporting the Gladys (Monster Ann?) setup of Jan and J^2 that has been discussed earlier in this thread.

If he is a 1.1, he just may not be as good as Jan, that could explain his loss at moons. One would expect variation in the levels of abilities among them.

It's also possible that he didn't receive the same injections and treatments as Jan ("shot full of miracles," as the Stupid Cop puts it). I imagine that genetically, any 1.1 would be quite formidable already, but that the full set of treatments is necessary to get a super-soldier of J^2 or Gilly's calibre.

This is, of course, assuming that Thin *is* a 1.1, something that I'm not convinced of yet.

I thought perhaps he was in kahoots with the stupid_cop... But he didn't seem the kind to hook up with Thin...

But Jan did tell her "Aunt" about what happened there... So, that falls into place nicely.

About that...

I believe that the Cop from chapter's 1 and 2 is also in on the deal.
He was crooked, and he also knew way too much about jan, IE: miracles.wav

He knew to much to be a coincidence, and he will almost certainly be mentioned as to why he knew, or he'll come back all together before the end of the game.
I just want to insert my idea that he is part of monster ann's squad...

The Cop (stupid cop) dosnt seem like he could be involved with kinkle. He was so angered and struck by what happened to the daughter of a good friend that he Had to do (in his mind) the right thing. Thin Kinkle is just Evil (lets not start all those debates again) and I dont think the Cop would have anything to do with him.

Thinking that the Stupid Cop is involved is indeed Wild Spec.

But if he made a return that would be Curious Symmetry

Define crooked. Stupid Cop has vigilante tendencies; he acts outside the law at times, but people like Thin are his targets, not his contacts.

Quick question. Do we know for sure that J^2 called Gilly for backup? From what I heard, I kinda got the feeling that Durga did that - you know, "Do something, call the cops" then "I can do better then that.". But I might've just missed a .wav - 56k ain't fun.

Interesting spec

I think the Gladys-as-bad-guy spec is intriguing, but my own personal thinking is that she's a "good guy".

However, it does seem like there's more going on than what we currently know, isn't there? It seems Thin's plan was really to take out J^2, and breaking Jan was a secondary concern (or a plan to flush out her dad). One quote that I found interesting was:
Thin Kinkle wrote:
But, babysitter, the problems you've been causing are bigger than you know.

I took this to mean that Jan was interfering with more than just Thin's recruitment activities. But Gladys? I dunno. Could be, but perhaps Thin was referring to the fact that Jan was undermining Thin's "street cred" or something.

If it were Gladys, my feeling is that it would poke some holes in the plot. As others have mentioned, why couldn't Durga make the connection? Furthermore, why didn't Gladys pop a cap in Jersey at the first mention of Monster Ann ("that dog won't hunt, but it will KILL you, muhahaha *bang*").

On a somewhat off-topic note, was anyone else disappointed that thre wasn't a scene where Jan actually gets kidnapped? To just dump us into the situation where she's tied up seemed like a narrative cop out (like a reverse deus ex machina or something)

Nice try, But Gilly met Durga for the first time at the Funeral.

A better [Spec] would be that Durga turned of the Lights, thus helping Gilly kill the Men in the room.

It makes more sense that way since Durga has never been known to contact someone directly, but rather indirectly.

Example: When Kumal won a brand new chatter from a Raffle he never signed up for. Or when Durga gives Jersey a free Burrito.

She has the ability to take over or manipulate other Electronics

Some confusion here. The spec in this thread is that J^2 had GLADYS as backup, but she was setting J^2 and Jan up because GLADYS=Monster Ann (see the first several posts in this thread for a list of the evidence). When Durga heard that J^2 was killed it is spec'ed that Durga called Gilly.

Confusion on top of confusion!

It was GLADYS who met Durga at the cemetery. Perhaps you were confused by the confusion in the earlier post.

It isn't spec that Durga was turning things off in Thin's playhouse. It is in the wavs. See perimeter_alarms

Jersey: Never went off went Gilly showed up did they?
Jan: I don't know, I don't know, I was out.
Jersey: Well, they didn't.
Jan: You did that?
Jersey: We did.

OK, so J2 and Gladys go in. Gladys backs out, J2 gets offed. Durga listens in afterward. We know she does some stuff to the place when Gilly's breaking in. Seems likely that she contacted Gilly (possibly using someone else's voice, since Gilly didn't know Durga, or maybe she just sent info to her anon, not sure.) - if J2 had done it prehumously, it seems odd that he'd still go in without backup.

Have I got my specs right now?

I have to disagree with you on this.

After seeing what she could do, it isn't much of a jump for stupid_cop to realise that Jan had some tweaking...

Hell, even WE figured that one out.

Stupid_Cop made a simple guess.

Thin's comments are right on the mark.

The more I think about it, and listen to the .wav files, the more I'm willing to bet large amounts of money that Aunt Gladys is Monster Ann.
