hahaha, yeh I noticed that

I circled them, then I thought I was seeing thousands of orange blobs!

Oh well, it jst shows the general vicinity of the non-color-burned blobs

Aka: The ones I saw before I ruined my retinas :p

This is about the best I could do with Photoshop. Keep in mind that I've used an artistic sort of filter (accented edges brush strokes, to be specific) so fine details go bye bye. It does give you a pretty clear idea though A) that yes there are blobs there and B) what general shape/arrangement they are. You can ignore the other color flecks around the rings, they're the result of the filter

edit: best to click on the picture, images are larger than they appear and so forth

My first thought is that it looks like semaphore (for a creature with more arms than us puny huumans).

Then again, maybe not.

Hey, it looks like you folks are working with screen captures. Here's the actual original .bmp extrapolated from the flash file itself (with flash), just in case it's different.

I'll also work on getting that jpegged picture next (i browsed through the file by importing its library into a new flash mx file...it has over 4000 symbols and more than twenty bitmaps, including the wavy pic of MC holding a plasma grenade, but no damaged jpeg pic was found in there...so they might have just used a zoomed in portion of the pic instead).

EDIT: Ok, I tried a different way of importing, and still no dice as far as a new picture is concerned. Oh, and unforum doesn't like bmp, so i made it a png instead (it was originally a jpg, but I didn't wanna resave it by exporting, as that would have introduced artifacts)

While I'm at it, here's a pic of those color artifacts in the noise picture. It's exactly the same as what inio has, but I got this effect by jumping the color saturation up 100% and dropping the overall darkness of the pic by about 30%.

As you can see, these are just yellow squares, and they turned the noise greenish where the yellow overlaps the black. I didn't change the hue value at all here, so this is just a more vibrant version of the original.

Oh, and I messed around with different hues, midtones, saturations and contrasts...i am positive that there are NO other color artifacts than these three in this picture. Aside from that, the original noise pic is 800x600.

I think we're barking up the wrong tree.

Even more exports, before anyone else asks for them. Aside from these pics, the rest of the elements of that swf are just the GUI elements (bars, xbox banner, h2 logo, etc)...nothing that could be hiding much.

I give you, the pretty sky and the warbly MC pic.

It's one of those 'bouncing out' images! Look at it cross-eyed! Around the centre is the MC's head. I'm having trouble making out the full image completely, but it IS the MC. From the angle it looks like a picture I have seen before.

But what is it? I've tried seeing the image, and just crossing my eyes a little makes lines jump out for me--but I can't make out anything in particular.

No, I believe you're seeing things... your mind wants you to see an image...

when the flash movie first begins playing, the "NOVEMBER 9" doesn't just appear, each letter cycles through a few other letters first... could this be a clue or puzzle? maybe a crypto key?

What about the noise, can anyone record it and play it back slowly, it could be some kind of words?

If you squint at it, it almost looks like Daffy Duck.

halo_2_0ct_15 has its own tag with Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in the headers, and a timestamp of 2004:10:13 09:18:13

The JFIF line isn't a username for Adobe. Its in all of the JPEGs made by Adobe Photoshop. That line is just used to tell computers that its a JPEG. Don't worry about it.
