Indeed. My deciphering skills are sorely lacking; I really didn't know where to begin taking it apart. Thanks!

glyphs

i went to the trouble of isolating the glyphs -- yeah, i know the cipher has been solved, but thought you'd want to see them clearly anyway (attached).

bah... so I wasn't the first. but hey, I figured it out on my own Razz (not that that's something to be enormously proud about with this simple puzzle... Sad ) ah well hehe

Come Bruce! We will form a new club! The "Almost got it first" club! hehe...

Now anyone up for figuring out the rest of the alphabet? I'd love to start writing in Forerunner (because that's what I've decided it is, so there).

edit: btw, we're missing F, J, K, M, P, Q, X and Z

edit numero dos: G was gotten because of the word Belong

Can I join your almost got it first club too?

It's probably Covenant script, since Covenant script looks like forerunner.

In any case, that's a good dig from Bungie.

props to anyone who can figure out if there's a pattern or rhyme or reason to the symbol -> letter translation...

or were the symbols randomly assigned to english letters?

for instance, there are only three letters (we know of) that have the upright triangle / bite on the left as the center piece - the S, C and A, and the A has one small triangle attached on the lower of the right side, the C has two attached to the entire right side

...continue...

I've posted this on the puzzles thread too, but since I don't know who is looking at both, really quickly I've set up this matchup for the code. I've only got what we have but it's here for future referance.

Any body tried messing with the sound it makes on the halo2.com site to check for a message or something?

A quick search for "cortana is hot" gave me this, which is too funny not to post (spoiler because it's about dialog in halo 2):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jay says that a fan got into his head a couple of years ago that he would catalog every single piece of combat dialog, he got to 1000, before Jay took pity on him and admitted there were 6,000. Well, that guy better get his pencil sharpened, because in Halo 2, we're looking at about 15,000 lines of combat dialog. There are lines of speech for every eventuality.

C Paul's favorite line is for when other Marines are pissed at the Chief for betrayals. "Don't shoot him in the head, you might hit Cortana. She's hot. She's blue, but she's hot."
