Amazing facts about bees!

In the summer, a single beehive has:

1 queen
250 drones
20,000 female foragers
40,000 female house-bees
5,000 to 7,000 eggs
7,000 to 11,000 larvae being fed
16,000 to 24,000 larvae developing into adults in sealed cells
Is this what the 250 recruits thing was about? are we crew or drones?

For centuries, bees have been used to guard valuables. In India bandits used the large Asian honeybee Apis Dorsata to guard loot near mountain caves.

We still have to see what is so valuable in that nest/mountain of hers

Bee stings—most of the time, when people think they have been stung by a bee, they have actually really been stung by a yellow jacket. Yellow jackets are not bees! Yellow jackets can sting you multiple times. When a bee stings, it dies.

So - it leaves the question - which is melissa...... the bee or the yellow jacket? Will she sting once and die (and to what end and purpose - is it even worth dying for) or will she sting multiple times? Worse yet, who will be the sting recipient?

I still find it amazing that so few - and kudos to you that are - are questioning melissa's intentions. Why is she so intent on stopping SP and Durga? Especially knowing what we do now from the recent axon unlocked .wavs, Is Durga a bad thing? Is Melissa a good thing? Why has no one questioned if The Operator on Apocalypso had infact BEEN comprimised before the crash and Melissa isn't simply a mirror of The Op? How do we know/can we know that she is infact who she sez? I believe we owe it to our skeptical sense of self-preservation to be cautious about the requests we recieve from here? How do we know that even though she seems to have a base knowledge to the ship and goings on of Apocalypso, that her questions are no more in the direction of seeking information from us about it. Doesn't it stirke anyone else as odd that we always have more info than she does? Who's feeding this info line? Durga perhaps? Is SP a reflection of a back-up/limited version of Durga? We know a limited copy of the Op is sent with all transmissions. We also now know Durga=Yasmine. What if (listen carefully to SP voice and Durga-when-directly-question-by-Jersey-voice) SP is the link between the "strange voices Melissa hears. Jason/Old Man/Castaway seems to have and interest in protecting - i.e. "I seem to have a guardian angel" - Durga. Is it possible he either had something to do with the kidnapping of Yasmine, the creation of the Op AI with Yasmines persona imprint, or - leading to even another [SPEC] possibility - planted SP and/or Durga. The latter would need verification of whether or not Durga was infact the Op and not Melissa.

Thoughts? Trout? and if trout - wetnaps?
hmm, in regards to whether a bee or yellowjacket... I think the PM's are setting us up for her to be the bee for several reasons.
1) she has been referred to as the queen... as far as I know, vespids are not like honey bees in this sense, though I know very little about them.

2) a bee dies after it stings, and Melissa has already prepared us for the fact that she may not be around much longer (I know this is a bit of a stretch as a queen bee CAN sting multiple times, but in the gereral, this still seems relevant to me).

3) mark my words here... SHE WILL STING. The plot has been setting this up for a while now, and when she does, it will be interesting to see how closely the bee analogy carries through.

Well, judging from the amount of forshadowing in this, I honetly wouldn't be suprised if she died while 'stinging.' I mean, think about this : Sophia said she wasn't going back to Coral. Right when she's about to get deported back to Coral, it gets glassed. She can't go back now. Durga has some sort of strange obession with Kamal. She explains the AI-making proc, and then it's Kamal's sister that was revealed to be trained for a Spartan-II. Turns out, Durga's Yasmine. In retrospect, all of the twists this plot has taken, they're all heavily forshadowed, and I mean HEAVILY, if you look at it. They just do it so well, you don't realise what the forshadowing is.

Well, Melissa sought/recruited 250 rank and file, 15 elite forces, 25 navigation and communication, 15 science and medical, 25 engineering and mechanical, ten band and entertainment, one paratroop, one vacuum suit technician, and one scuba. Adding up those numbes, her total crew is...

...343. One of Bungie's favorite numbers. 7x7x7. 343 Guilty Spark. 343 "proc" sectors in a fully-working Melissa, according to SPDR:

I think that is the primary significance of the numbers chosen for the crew.
