(sorry if this has alread been posted)

today i got the winter 2004/5 catalogue for firebox (www.firebox.com)

i noticed this -

the third image, flipped and mirrored is this -

the picture of the note as you can probably work out has the www.perplexcity.com address in

i went to the site, put in my email

then i went to firebox.com and did a search for perplex city

it came up with -
The //\\\\\\ Cube
"Nihil obstat scientia" - Zeller
More...

clicking the title or More... brought me to this forum.

hope this helps in whatever this perplex city thing is.

Edit: Topic - Wishi-san

Mmm give me a hour or so and i'll have a rough latin translation Smile

[Edit]

roughtly its "nothing shall withstand knowledge",

scientia is latin for science or "knowledge"

"Nihil obstat" - famous latin quote of "nothing shall withstand us"

so with a bit of lateral thinking is a educated guess it means "Nihil obstat scientia"

The title is The //\\\\\\ Cube. Binary 00111111 is question mark, which appears to make sense.

I too received a copy of the firebox catalogue this morning and was somewhat intrigued by the coded ad.

I got my wife in on it and she phoned them up.

She spoke to somebody who didn't really know what was going on and he put her on hold while trying to find out.

When he came back on he said he had been given a few knowing looks, but couldn't find out anymore and was only getting the standard "check the website" answer. Apparently somebody who works there, or used to work there has been planning it for years....which figures.
All else he could say was to watch the perplexcity.com site over the next few days. Don't know what a few days is, but the plot thickens....

Very interesting.

Or maybe "Nothing shall withstand our knowledge?"

Heh. I really like this whole everyone's in on it but us feeling. Sounds like things were really really well planned. I'm so excited that we're out of pregame... or at least it seems like we are, I hope this isn't just another pre-game trail. The finality of "Project Syzygy is over" makes me think that we've started though. And someone's been planning it for years? Wow, thanks for all the effort, PMs.
