Game winding down?

We seem to be getting a LOT of confirmations to Spec in the last two batches of axons. Is the game winding down to the exciting conclusion?

Well, theoretically it will end when we run out of pages on the "Fun Stuff" page, which currently has recipe6, recipe7, and recipe8, and possibly the contact me page. At the rate of one per week this puts us either november 2 or november 9 (depending on whether the contact me page is included). My guess is that it will end the second, and we will have the story and everything complete by then. Think about it, if it goes to november 9th, what are most of us going to be doing, running around to payphones or playing Halo 2? Sure, some of the diehard ARGers may stick around, but likely not enough people to continue the trend. I think we will all know the direct connection to Halo 2 by November 2. What that connection is and how it will affect Halo 2 and how we view the story will remains to be seen. My theory about why the crewmembers have been added thoroughout the weeks is that at the end of Halo 2, in the credits, it will list everyone who was confirmed as a crewmember (that'd be awesome! Razz ), but we'll see.

I had similar thoughts about crewmembers being included ingame (although I was thinking more like the dog tag system in Metal Gear). But, seeing as Halo 2 is all done, and has been sent to the factories, it's a little late for that.

Unless there was a X-Box Live update. But I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Ya Metal Gear, thats what I was thinking of. I knew there was a game where they did this kind of thing. I was also thinking about how at the end of Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring- Extended Edition, how they put the list of the members of the Lord of the Rings fanclub. The list went on for like 15 minutes. Anyways, back on topic. Ya, I hadn't thought about it already being sent to the presses, so that sort of ruins my theory, but I still think something will ahppen based on what we do. Maybe somehow they will do an update through xbox live, or something. There has to be some goal we accomplish by becoming crewmembers, especially now that we have what, like 343 crewmembers, plus all the live calls. And I realize that not all 343 people gave name and rank and contact info and all that, but I know I did, and I got a direct confirmation email from her, and that cant be the end of it, something has to lead from this, but other than the list in the credits I have no idea what it could bee.

I'm finding ILB particually boring recently. Nothing for me to do. My spec is awful, and puzzles are more or less completed before I can make any real contributions. And there's a lack of a good update (axons arn't really updates anymore).

So, I think the game is winding down.

i don't think it will affect Halo2.. i believe The Haunted Apiary is just so die-hard halo fans have something to do until the 9th. i also think that while what goes on in the games are going on, these audio files we're unlocking is telling us whats going on on the planets with the civillians on it and giving us more background info on the halo series....

so how many of you know there are (was) 7 halo's all together?

as for the game winding down.. yeah i can see it winding down. the audio files are climaxing and melissa is talking about not being able to go on

yeah i ramble...

yeah i agree with people when they say we have to get something out of this game. they probably spent thousands of dollars to make this ARG and if nothing results from it then it'd be odd... heck, maybe they're using us to put together a story for a new Halo-related book or something

Ok, three main points for this post, I hope they make sense. First of all, this last week was boring?

This last week was one of the most exciting since this started, everyone rushing out to take pictures in scuba gear was just plain fun and hilarious. I barely got my picture in on time, and it was so much fun! (I started at a new job on Tuesday so everyone thought I was crazy taking a picture of me by the payphone carrying a wrench, and my explanation was even funnier, apparently). If you want to make a contribution since the puzzles are solved too quickly, head over to http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7100&start=720. We've been working on this puzzle for almost a week, and no one can figure it out, this is your chance!

Ok, second point.

I totally agree. I didn't mean we will actually affect the game in any way. The audio clips are just more backstory, like the books, but from another point of view. But there has to be some clear connection. Jan, Kamal, Jersey, Rani, etc. will all play into the game somehow (maybe just a quote about them or something, I don't know).

And lastly,

Really? I did not know that, I knew the Halo from the game was number four, and that there were more, but I didn't know how many more.

Unfortunatly, my location makes axon hunting hard. I don't think any London axons have gone hot recently, and it's not easy for me to get to London anyway.

What sounds like what?
