Can't be a coincidence, can it?

Soooo, I'm probably not the 1st to notice this, but no one seems to have brought it up yet: notice how all the named crew members are getting their calls in contigious blocks? I think I counted 5 groupings total. Maybe the ninja slipped me a bad gram this morning, but isn't this a first? Usually things seem randomly scattered. I can't help but think this may tie into what ever we un up doing tomorrow. I open the floor to theories.

Chi-town! Represent!

OK, Chicagoans, I'm in the city, and have been able to pick up a couple phones recently because I had the day off. However, this week, I am not going to be able to, but there are three axons in the city proper that need covering:

9:28 PDT/11:28 CDT - Sun-Times Building
This phone is right in front of the Sun-Times Building, directly across from IBM. I have never personally answered this phone, but a keyword search on these forums will possibly give you more indicators of where it is, and what you need to look for.

10:12 PDT/12:12 CDT - CTA elevated platform
This is an easy phone to get to, but please make sure to bring train fare. Enter through the gates right by Wrigley, and head up to the NORTH end of the platform. Yes, the coordinates point right at the other phone that is right above Addison, but it'll be the phone at the north end that will ring. It rings normally, and has a good volume. Hopefully you won't get one or both trains coming in when you need to answer the question!

11:51 PDT/1:51 PM CDT - Landmark Century movie theatre
Head on up to the fourth level in this indoor shopping center, and head back to the bathrooms all the way to the right of the concession stand. There is a bank of two phones here, and it'll be the one on the right that will ring. Volume is good, ringer is nice and audible.

---

Are there any Chicago peeps willing to take these three on? The Landmark Century phone, by the way, is the one I got a live call on, so it's possible it could happen again!

Yay, the Rochester axon I submitted is going to go live! I find it interesting that it's in the middle of a bunch of crew calls... I wonder what that'll mean. At any rate, a friend and I are ready to report for duty, so wish us luck on our first axon ever! Very Happy

If there's any other Rochester folk who want to join us, it's near the airport - address is 2328 Chili Ave - click the link for a Mapquest map and directions.

Re: Chi-town! Represent!

Krysten: Sadly I once again will not be able to make the trip in to Chicago to anwer phones.

On a side note, anyone else wondering about the possibility of some of the personal axon calls being live this week? IIRC, live calls are usually spaced out by about 20 minutes and some of the crew call blocks are longer than that. In particular, the second block is over 45 minutes long. Melissa's lunch break maybe?

live call possibility

I don't know if it is true everywhere, but all of the Bay Area (Berkeley, Palo Alto, San Francisco) axons that have received live calls (a total of 11 for the three cities together), none of them have ever received more than one live call on any given pay phone.
Not to discount the possibility of what krystyn said. It's just an observation that seemed relevant when I began this post.

EDIT: As I cull the latest (recipe6) spreadsheet for the Bay Area from DarkForge's spreadsheet, I notice that I was wrong. In Berkeley, two of their live calls were on the same phone. So, krystyn's possibility is even more possible. Ok, not really MORE possible, but anyway....Embarassed

CHANGED AGAIN

THE UNDER CONSTRUCTION AXONS NOW HAVE DATA - A BUNCH OF COORDINATES, AND SEVERAL CREW CALLS THAT ARE MOVED FROM OTHER TIMES!!!

DC LOST TWO REGULAR AXONS AND SEVERAL OTHERS CHANGED TIMES (ONE BY HOURS, THE REST BY MINUTES)

PROBABLY SHOULD CHECK ALL YOUR DATA BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT!

Strange Axon coincidences.

I was discussing some oddities in the axon list with my teammate, Robogriff, and thought I would share with the rest of you:

The kill_zone axon is full of calls to individuals: 11/19
Will that axon get a personal call to an individual?
Likewise, save_your_prayers is 9/18

And, what in the world does THIS mean?
intercom:
12:28 PDT
Alien, ENS - PENDING

There's 2 marked PENDING in that Axon, and nowhere else.

Well...

I imagine we'll find out what it means in about 46 minutes.

Assuming the voice actress keeps normal business hours, I don't think the kill_zone axon will get a live call (to an individual). Plus part of the agreement says that they will not callyou directly. More importantly, what is up with the pending?

Just wondering, but was alien an approved crew member last week?
[spec]
Maybe he is one of the people that called the voicemail and semi-convinced Melissa that he is crew, but she won't believe him completely till she talks to him herself?
[/spec]
Just a guess.

or, 47+ minutes (he said gloomily). The first axon is in Dothan, Alabama. Has anyone ever picked up that axon? What about the other early calls in North Carolina, Minnesota, and Virginia? Have they been answered reliably before now?

Aliendial is listed twice! Once as PENDING.

well - it just says ensign Alien. Could be someone else. I certainly didn't sign up twice, so we'll see. -- AD
