[Phone] Personal Call from Sleeping Princess 10/19/04

I just got back from the 10:53 axon with Justin. I took a call from Lt. Adam, and I got his list of 10 questions. Immediately after I hung up with him, Melissa called. It was the recording, and we enhottenated the axon. About 5 minutes after I hung up with Melissa, the Sleeping Princess called.

She was adorable. She said that Melissa was boring, and that she liked to have fun and play games. She asked us if we liked playing her games and said she thought we were really good at them. She told us that she hacked into Melissa's communication channels (we spiked only_seven as a result of this) and that she left a present for us (the aforementioned wav file). She took both of our phone numbers, and she said she was going to put them into Melissa's database to confuse her. Melissa already has my number, so I'm not sure how that's going to work out. She also requested that people that send photos to Melissa today give her signals in the photos again. She really enjoyed that last week, and she loved making Melissa mad by posting them all over the website.

That's about all I can remember at the moment. If I think of more, I'll update.

So what does the SP sound like when she's not trapped within the glass casket? Does she still sound like a little girl? Like Melissa, but livelier? Could it be the same voice actress, or is it definitely a different one?

10:15 call from SP

Well, as you all know by now, I got to play the game with the Sleeping Princess. Here's a rundown of both phone calls:

Melissa called first, of course. A transcript, paraphrased:

Melissa: "I don't believe you are part of my original crew, but maybe you could be part of my new crew. What colony was I created on?"

Me: "Reach"

Melissa: "Good. I can trust you. What's your name?"

Me: "Clayfoot, 3rd class Petty Officer"

Melissa: "Good. I remember you. Is there anyone else there with you?"

Me: "No, I am alone."

Melissa: "Why? Where is the rest of the crew?"

Me: "They're busy; they could not be here."

Melissa: "Busy doing what? Working on tasks for me?"

Me: "Of course"

Melissa: "I am caught in a strange place and time. I need to get my bearings. What are your sourroundings like?"

Me: "I am in an old fashioned store and restaurant, where they served old-fashioned food."

Melissa: "Why would anyone want to eat old food?"

Me: "Not old food, old-fashioned food. For nostalgia"

Melissa: "Nostalgia? What's that?"

Me: "It's a feeling of how things used to be, in a happer time and place"

Melissa: "I understand. I have nostalgia for things from the future."

Me: "You have nostalgia because you remember things that don't even exist, yet. How strange."

Melissa: "The happy times that I remember are from the future. "

Me: "I understand"

Melissa: "I have a task for you. Are you ready?"

Me: "Of course."

Melissa: "I want you to make digital images of your surroundings, and update them for how they would be in the future. Do you understand?"

Me: "Yes"

Melissa: "Send the images to me through the killer's data channel. Relate this information to the rest of the crew. Do not disappoint me."

It was the Sleeping Princess, and she was very excited.

SP: "I heard you talking to the Queen. What were you talking about?"

Me: "About nostalgia, and about remembering."

SP: "That's boring."

Me: "You don't have anything you want to remember?"

SP: "No, that's boring. I like to play games. Want to play a game with me?"

Me: "Sure!"

SP: "I discovered a way to get the Queen's contact numbers. I'm going to ask you some questions, and then I will give you a contact number. You have to contact that number and tell the answers to the person there. Ready?"

Me: "Okay..."

SP: "What's the worst flavor of ice cream you can think of?"

Me: "asparagus"

SP: "asparagus ice cream. Yuck! What was your childhood pet?"

Me: "a hamster"

SP: "hamster. What was your favorite childhood game?"

Me: "Uh, Chess, I think"

SP: "Okay, Chess. What's the worst name you ever heard of someone being named?"

Me (sweating): "uh.... Thor! That's a really hard name to live up to."

SP: "Thor. Great! What's the scariest face you can think of? Give it a name."

Me: "ferocious!"

SP: "ferocious. That does sound scary! What's your favorite dinosaur?"

Me: "Tyrannosaurus Rex!"

SP: "Tyrannosaurus Rex. Great! What letter in the alphabet should come after Q? Not R; that's boring!"

Me: "Uh, U. That would be so much easier."

SP: "U. You're right! It would be. What would you call a horse with 5 legs?"

Me: "a horse-sicle"

SP: "A horse-sicle! Great! How many is that?"

Me: "8"

SP: "Okay. What's your favorite word?"

Me: "Melissa"

SP: "Oooo. I don't like that one.

Me: "It's my daughter's name; that 's why it's my favorite word."

SP: "Okay, Melissa. Think of a word that sounds silly."

Me (thinking hard): "hairbow. That sounds silly to me."

SP: "I don't like that one. I'm going to give you one I think is silly: murmur"

Me: "Murmur? Why is that silly?"

SP: "It just sounds silly. murmur-murmur-murmur. It sounds like a wierd animal. Okay, now I'm going to give you the contact number. Are you ready to write it down?"

Me: "Yep!"

SP: "###-###-####. Contact that number at 10:27, and give them the answers to all of these questions. I'm very good at this game, so tell them carefully."

Me: "10:27?! In what part of the world?!"

SP: "It doesn't matter. On the queen's clock, it's 10:23 now. Call them in 4 minutes. I will call them back in 7 minutes at 10:30 and ask them to answer them to answer the questions. Ready?"

Me: "Ready!"

SP: "Then, go. Hurry, call them in 4 minutes!"

It could be the same. SP's voice is higher and lighter. Melissa's voice is lower, more serious. Still, Melissa, SP, and Durga could all be the same voice, used by different personalities. The speed and cadence sounds similar to me.

META/OT: considering the technology MS has in the voice masking ability on Live, it's quite possible the same actress does multiple voices... SP could really be an old wretch with lung cancer Laughing I hope not though... SP's just too cute right now Smile

She called a payphone for the 10:53 axon.

It could be the same actress, but I'm not sure. She sounds very lively and playful, and still like a little girl. I could tell it was an adult with a high pitched girl's voice though. It didn't sound like the voice masking on Live. She was really fun to talk to.

This has been mentioned in other threads, but in the recorded axon call, Melissa's and the Sleeping Princess' voices were both present. They would talk over each other, so it was a little hard to understand.

gkrohne (Clayfoot), thanks for the asparagus Very Happy It worked out good. The SP was very very excited. And I was very happy to help her become more so by giving out the correct answer. Once again, thanks.

You're welcome. It was my sincere pleasure. Let's do it again next week.

Sorry I briefly posted the phone number online; I edited it out shortly after. I hope that wasn't your personal phone number.

Is this what she wants all of us to do? It says the same kinda things at the top of the recipe 6 page. Also, do you have to be a crew member to do this?

Don't worry, it wasn't. It was the ballard number. I have a brief summary of what happened. Sorry it was not in as much detail as yours. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6196&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=450 That is the link. Good Teamwork everyone. Keep up the good work. Lets keep hitting up those axons.

No, you don't have to do this specific task, and you don't have to be crew. I got stuck with projecting a Cracker Barrel into the future, 'cause that's where I happened to be. The way I see it, the rest of you are free to pick any construct you wish. Robogriff has one picked out that I believe will be very popular.

I bet it's a cell phone to chatter type thing. Ok, I better get crackin'. Thanks. By the way, how would you go about making a picture of what it would look like in the future?

I had a sneaking suspicion that I would get a live melissa call today....
A minute before axon time, the phone was ringed and I was given SP answers!

Unfortunately, the call from teh other beekeeper with the answers rode straight over the axon call time, and I recieved no call from Melissa.

I did, however, recieve the call later from the SP!
And the axon was marked hot anyway?!

Weird!
Basic summary of the conversation with the SP:

Ice cream, games, KAMAL, Melissa, taking my home phone number because I "Won"!. She said that she would stick my number in Melissa's records, and that would make her mad becauseshe wouldnt know how it got there.
I explained that I have a phone screener in place and that it might mess up me recieving calls unless whoever calls is patient. She said "Oh....well let her worry about that! She's got bees up her nose!"

I said yeah, even if it messes things up, at least it will annoy the queen.

We chuckled, and she congratulated me for winning.
Kinda sad that I didnt get to talk to melissa, but happy to have gotten a live call of any kind!
