[QUESTION] Axon failure

We know that, if no one answers an axon, Melissa keeps calling it all week until she makes a successful connection (or until the following Tuesday, whichever comes first).

We also know that Melissa does this even if the axon is marked "cancelled," as has been happening in recent weeks. So if an axon is supposedly "cancelled" on Wednesday, you can still successfully enhottenate it on, say, Friday, and Melissa will update her list to reflect the "axon success."

Here's my question:

Does anyone know, from personal experience, whether Melissa -- and I'm referring to "recorded" Melissa now, not "personal" Melissa -- will still keep calling an axon if someone does answer the phone, but fails to make a successful connection for some reason?

(The embarrassing reason I need to know about this is detailed here. Sad )

Why yes.

We had a broken phone here in DC several weeks ago (lots of line noise) - Mike_Was and I both tried to answer on different days and were pissed that it didn't work. But it kept ringing. And then Chappy wanders over on like the last day and answered it.

Also, I got dumped on my crew call twice this week and she kept calling -- I didn't successfully enhottenate until Thursday even though I got the call every time.
