No clue on PushTimes this week???

Unless I missed something....am I correct in stating that there was no hint/clue in the articles this week? We've been "fed a bone" the past 3 episodes, and now nothing. What gives?

Affleck said in an interview that the clues would get progressively harder to find. Maybe they are weaning us and trying to make it more difficult with fewer hints (I hope!)

I don't think The Push Times web site was displayed during the opening credits this week, maybe that was to tell us we wouldn't find a clue there.

The only clue I found on the open page "Lottery Jackpot page", was the following line:

Ms. Maddie Seymour, owner of Seymour's Video Rentals & Check Cashing, said, "It's all about dreams. That's why so many of my customers are playing."

The quote "It's all about dreams", plays into the Peter Pan theme.

OK, Here's the weird thing. Nevada has no lottery. California has a lottery as do many other states, but NOT Nevada. They have a progressive slot game called MegaBucks.

That's really weird. Did Nevada ever have a state lottery, say in 1984, 1985?

On one hand, ep.4 opening montage did NOT direct us to pushtimes.com this week, so maybe we shouldn't expect a clue.

On the other hand, having the top story be about a state lottery which doesn't exist sure raises suspicions. Consider this: The image for the lottery logo shows bouncing numbered balls. In the lottery article, one of the shop owners says he does not "lowball" his customers. C'mon, didn't anyone else think that was a forced phrase? And the lowest ball in the image, both in number and in position, is the purple 3.

Woah, you're right. You know, I still think all of the three references relate back to the trinity. A lot of old fables do that.

To the best of my knowledge and searching local records, Nevada has never had a State Lottery. Although there may be a measure on the 2004 ballot concerning this issue.

Nevada lottery

For the life of me I can't understand why everyone is amazed that Nevada, the gambling capitol of America, does not have a state lottery. Don't Ya think that maybe, just maybe, the Harrah's and Ceasar's people have a few lobbyists in Carson City fighting off unnecessary competition from the state? I'm from Kentucky and I know our horse racing industry fought against establishing a state lottery for years (They finally lost)

It's all about dreams

The lottery winner's "It's all about dreams" comment in Push times article also plays into all of Jim's dream sequences, at Martha's, in his cell, in trunk of car, etc... and his dreams/flashbacks always seem to touch upon his childhood, his dad, etc...

I just found another possible lead from the Profile of Quinny's junk shop on the push times. It says Quinny himself "holds a Ph.D. in Folklore & Mythology from Central Nevada State University. His interest in legend and tradition gives him endless job satisfaction." In ep 3 we were looking for a connection to that legend discussed at Caleb's cremation. Don't know if any connection can be made here but I thought it was worth throwing out.

I thought that the quote was to point us to the article on Quinny's Junk Shoppe since it is he who says the quote.

The picture of Quinny ALSO balls in it...several pool balls. The lowest is, I think, 13. Of course, that's lowest physically. The lowest numbered ball is either red or orange, so that would be, I think, 2 or 3. It has been several years since my pool-hall days...

I feel like I'm grasping at straws...any thoughts?

um, since we've mentionned Quinny, I'll throw these tiny tidbits out: His nickname is Extractor Extraordinaire... two "e's"...weren't we speculating about the letter e before? Also he prefers to his nameplate "reanimator". There was a thread about immortatlity...should we be speculating about coming back to life or is that just too kooky? Confused
Just trying to brainstorm....

Must Read TV

Allow me:

reanimator is a title by lovecraft

actually, the quote to look at is the one about him being surrounded by objects, and the requirement to understand the significance of sadi objects. Now, look at the pic of him surrounded by objects. A coffeepot!, black cowboy hat!, slot machine!, etc. Also, take a close look at the blinds...

why, in a town where a casino gives away millions of dollars per year into private pockets would ANYONE NEED to play a state lottery? especially if the law would require them to report winnings? Ah, it's all about dreams. dreams which have infiltrated every nook and cranny of town...

look at the calander of events. anything strike you as odd? say, the birthing classes? go lil' lizards, eh?

why is peter pantip AN OLD DUDE???

yes, the question in part is why is young prufrock in the trunk. the larger question is, what is the relevance of that occurance to the dialog of penetration and coverage? penetration of what? population by...??? (a mutagenic?)

how odd, to me, that never once have I seen anyone ask the question: why/when/how did Caleb Moore come to be as he was?

neither was, why did his body COMBUST instead of BURN?

guess I'll stop.
