He has a new away message:

Away Message: The tolling of the bell calls me to Meifumado, that which some might call Hell. I have drawn the veils of time and space aside, and am withdrawing beyond the illusion, albeit temporarily. Truly, the answers are hidden amongst the shadows.

I hide amongst the shadows as well.

------------------------------------------------------
(This is me, not the away message)

Direct or indirect link?

yx mentions the "powers that be" in his conversation with one of you.

this page: http://www.channel51.org/void.htm#

says the same thing, in " I hope by publishing these videos, I'm causing the Powers That Be to sweat many a bullet."

The same person? Or a cabal? We must find more.

The tolling of the bell calls me away. Where will you search?

Someone said they didn't know what this away message meant. I think it means he (it)'s somewhere in space.

the second sentence of that away message sounds like a chozo lore entry, maybe if someone knows the rest of it there's some kind of clue? also, does anyone know what meifumado is?

There's also a link to http://www.2advanced.com

Looks like they helped design the site, so there might be some information there. Other than that, it doesn't look like there's too much going on.

On www.2advanced.com an app skin you can download is Propecy Prime, and another is Expansions, maybe as in the expansion into two universes in Metriod Prime: Echoes?

good call, it was a chozo lore logbook entry:
Exodus

"We Chozo are departing now, after so many years in peaceful seclusion here on Tallon IV. When we came, this place was a refuge for our spirits, a civilization built from native materials, bereft of the trappings of our technology. We were linked to the land here, kindred to the plants and animals, far away from the machines we had become so dependant on. And so we leave it now, pristine, a testament to the mortal forms we no longer need.We have drawn the veils of time and space aside, and are withdrawing beyond the illusion. But we will never forget this, the most sacred of our homes. And we will remain ever watchful"

EDIT: moved bold tag

My greatest fear is not of the dark. Tell me, what is your greatest fear? Perhaps then you may learn mine.

Taken from YX455's profile.

In his away message he says that he hides among the shadows... Maybe this refers to the interview with the rossler observatory offical. Maybe he is him, and maybe the answer he talks about is there.

Also, in his profile he says to tell him of your greatest fear... Could this be the trade he was talking about?

The capitalized letters of the first sentence spell out NARPASSWORD, might be of some importance.

there's a comment i saw on slashdot that explains the meaning of NARPASSWORD:

Quote:
Funny.. check out this cheat code for the original Metroid: Super password: Enter NARPAS SWORD0 0000_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ as a password. Note: "_" indicates a space, and except for the letter "O" in "SWORD", the remaining characters are the number zero. You will start at the beginning of the game with unlimited life, unlimited missiles, and all upgrades. The word in this is "NAR PASSWORD". "NAR" is an abbreviation for the name of the person who designed the password system, Tohru Narihiro.

im not sure if this is important or not, but the break in the cheat code corresponds with the semicolon in YX's buddy info

Doubtful. From what I've seen of YX455, it's might actually be a person, albeit one who has a lot to do. It seems that he/she/it sometimes comes on to talk, and other times he/she/it has something to do, and simply leaves an away message up. Perhaps they are watching, or perhaps not. The real question is, have the people who posted their convos been around when it was talking since their convos? Probably not. It doesn't seem to have actually been talking too often. Twice, maybe three times that it's been on without an away message, IIRC.

As far as the NARPASSWORD thing goes, NAR could also mean North American Release. Remember, there was no password needed for the Japanese version.

We (my friend and I) don't think the character of YX455 would want us sharing his conversation with anyone else. It kinda remains to be seen whether or not he actually does care though. I missed today's convo with him... but i'm not gonna miss the next one. I'll ask him then...

ok i found out something else about the strange away message:
apparently Meifumado is the "path to Buddhist hell" or the "road between heaven and hell" or something like that

this makes sense because he says he is being called to "Meifumado, that which some might call Hell".

so here's my theory:
1. the meifumado part means he is going to do something evil
2. in the chozo lore, the sentence after the one he uses says "we will never forget this, the most sacred of our homes" so maybe hes going to betray and/or leave something but not forget it
3. the "i hide among the shadows" part means hes going to hide or something until he does whatever hes going to do

Something interesting I found searching the Channel 51 site:
If you follow their link about the glasses/MP3 player, it takes you to a site about the glasses. Click "Next>>" and it takes you to a story on the Nintendo DS. Sneaky, Nintendo.

Also, if you go to the link that shows the pic of the day with the nebula or whatever at space.com, and actually read the article, they say it's also called NGC 1760...NGC = Nintendo Game Cube? don't think the 1760 means anything.

Now I'm just waiting for YX455 to come online.
I'll try turning the conversation towards her relation to Orbis Labs. Could she be working there? Spying on them?
And to gain her trust, hmm... Something that would prove that we're not the "Powers That Be..."
Maybe sending a picture of yourself could help, or starting an audio chat.

NGC is an actual naming standard for galaxies/star clusters. That half-shoots down the gamecube theory; and also gamecube is one word, not two.
