credit to this goes to the perceptive people at www.samus.co.uk forums:

there's two metroids in there! one on the creature's face, one in the twigs to the left.

there's two in this one as well: one again on the creature's face, one in the bottom right in the twigs. also spec on the twigs in this one is that they are now in the formation of the boots samus wears.

Most Nintendo-branded games use a product code starting with DOL (dolphin, the code name of the system during development). Scour the packaging and you'll find it.

the GCN naming has always confused me...

i think they may have actually been trying to seperate the gamecube name from the nintendo name...so you think "GameCube" before you think "Nintendo"...just a theory Razz

Note: YX455 is online right now. They seem to be getting flooded with questions though... After a few quick responses they are starting to take longer and longer to answer.

ugh 10 min turnaround...how many of you are talking to him!?! Smile

...AND THE TRANSCRIPT....(i retract my previous qualms, when i asked him about it, he didn't respond, and signed off)

[22:23] ADTHR26959: hello
[22:23] YX455: Hello
[22:23] *** Auto-response sent to YX455: I am currently away from the computer.
[22:23] ADTHR26959: how are you?
[22:24] YX455: How would you like me to be?
[22:24] ADTHR26959: i would like you to be doing well
[22:26] YX455: Perhaps I am, then.
[22:26] ADTHR26959: that's good
[22:28] ADTHR26959: the last time we talked, you spoke of a trade. is the question about my greatest fear in your profile the trade you spoke of?
[22:28] YX455: Perhaps
[22:29] ADTHR26959: well, then, would you like to know about my fear?
[22:33] YX455: Is it necessarily what I want to know? Perhaps all that matters is what you would like to tell.
[22:37] ADTHR26959: --(EDITED OUT...cuz it's kinda personal....)--
[22:45] YX455: And I suppose you would like to know my fear?
[22:48] ADTHR26959: Only if you want to tell me. I told you mine as a courtesy for helping to unveil Orbis Labs to the people, and simply because you asked me to.
[22:59] YX455: I fear many things.
[22:59] YX455: I fear becoming lost.
[23:04] ADTHR26959: Do you mean not knowing where you are.....the physical sense of lost? Or do you mean simply not knowing what to do, or what to say....the mental sort of lost?
[23:04] YX455: Perhaps both?
[23:04] YX455: Perhaps I mean physically lost, as in the woods...
[23:04] YX455: Yet, perhaps I mean metaphorically lost, as in an endless torrent of lies and impurity.
[23:11] ADTHR26959: Couldn't they both be described as the same thing? For me, it is very easy to picture you being lost in a very dark and cold forest of lies and impurity. The question is....Where is this forest? Is there any way to find your way out alone, or do you need help?
[23:17] YX455: Perhaps I can get out alone, or perhaps I am drowning.
[23:17] YX455: Unfortunately, if I am to be saved, it must happen later. Events have occured that need my immediate attention.
[23:17] YX455: We shall continue this later, I trust.
[23:17] ADTHR26959: I hope so.
[23:18] ADTHR26959: Thank you for taking the time to speak with me again

i think i figured out the key to playing his games...don't simply present him with a yes/no question, or he will respond with Perhaps. (and i hate him for it! Mad )
EDIT: oh just so everyone knows, the screenname on http://www.channel51.org/Archive_Week1/sciops.htm has changed from yx455 to ka054...who is offline

My conversation went pretty much the same way at the start. I was an idiot at the start though... I thought that YX455 was the owner of channel51.org Embarassed
They seemed amused at my confusion.

I'll ask next time they're on whether it's ok if I post the entire log. I'd like to share it with you all, but I don't want them to stop talking to me.

Basically they said that the known is much more frightening than the unknown, simply because you know what you have to fear. They seemed to be saying that they were afraid of a specific "known," but when I asked about it, they had this to say:

YX455: Ah, but did I say I feared something worse than the unknown?
YX455: I merely said the known has more reason to be feared.

So. We know that their greatest fear is being lost. I was considering asking whether they meant the physical or mental meaning of lost, but I tried turning the conversation towards the Battle Sphere at that point (which didn't work well).

The real question is, what are our long-time goals in these conversations? Is it even possible to know yet? Let's wait for more updates on channel51.org.

By the way, I've been following the "I Love Bees" story very closely since it began, but this is my first real participation in an ARG. Great fun Very Happy

It's doubtful that they'd care. Hornet posted his transcripts, and he wasn't ostracised. Also, a bunch of people posted their stuff on the GameFAQs thread while it was in progress, and they weren't cut off.
Either they don't know of these threads or they don't care. Possibly both.
I'd say to go ahead and post.

same. heh the first conversation i had with him i was really nervous, cuz i hadn't decided how i was gonna tallk to him yet, but as you can see in the 2nd conversation, i was a lil better prepared...so i'm having even more fun.

btw, my friend talked to him about riddles....very weird conversation, but i was very impressed with both ends...he doesn't want me posting the conversation though, so i won't.

i'm fairly certain this is an actual human being we're talking to now, just because of the dynamicness of it.

now, next issue...why the change of AIM contacts on the website? add a new side to the story? just a new character? make you choose sides (kinda like what ILB is doin now) because this new character is furthering the interests of orbislabs? who knows? i don't... ugh Razz

Someone just pointed me to a GameFAQs topic with additional logs and info...

http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=35785&topic=17052204

Going through it sporadically, as San Andreas loads.

Hi everyone. I didn't realize that there was an Unfiction post for this new ARG, but here I am now. Razz I've been paying attention to the GameFAQs thread about this mostly but now I'll check here for updates as well.

Looks like at least three people have had some major successes talking to YX. I hope he or his counterpart KA turn up again soon.

I find that poor how it's all mirrored and such.

I only see the one metroid on the face
