Monster.com Job Posting for Athena Astronautics the job reference number is binary. If you break it up into 8bit codes you get:
Code:
Binary - Decimal - Hex - ASCII
01101100 - 108 - 6C - l
01101001 - 105 - 69 - i
01100111 - 103 - 67 - g
01101000 - 104 - 68 - h
01110100 - 116 - 74 - t
Hope this helps.

Found that out in the main Metroid-Channel 51 thread. (So proud, I got first solve on that one. When I'm feeling insufferably pleased with myself, I do this :p )
EDIT: Well, most of it. The binary, but not decimal and hex.

I've been following the Channel 51 thread for a while now, and yesterday I sent an e-mail to that gmail address, and got this reply:
Dear Mr. Crawford,
I would like to congratulate you for being an applicant that has stood
out from the crowd, and for showing your intelligence
multi-dimensionality. The new Bounty Hunter position is quite
challenging, and the adventure will morph you to a whole new world and
level of action previously unseen. Please forward me a mailing
address so that our training department may send you a software
program that presents the tools and strategies needed to embark on
this journey. The mission begins November 15.
Should you have any colleagues that you feel are up to this challenge,
you are welcome to spread the word to them. Space is limited, so
early applicants are given priority. The galaxy could use more
aspiring heroes such as you.
Best regards,
William Davenport
Director of Recruitment, Athena Astronautics
Hmm. I don't think it's fake, even though the gmail address seems a bit odd. Anyway, hope this helps. I'll be replying to that with my postal address.

i'd be very weary of this..........it just doesn't seem right............for example, the grammar's a bit off in places, and again, the gmail address thing.....
we still don't know how the job was stumbled upon, and that also bothers me.....

I tried putting light.htm and 0110110001101001011001110110100001110100.htm into channel51, athena and orbislabs with nothing.
Hrm. If no one is willing to give up a mailing address, I will. I wonder if I send in a job application, if they'll respond to me, also.

So how many of you actually a copy of the e-mail saying they liked your application? I got mine today. But i'm also a bit wary of them asking for a postal address right off the bat like that.
I mean, I doubt they would be sending worthwhile stuff, like a copy of prime 2 (maybe it's just my wishful thinking, but i think the e-mail implies that) out to everyone who applied to the job on Monster. So i agree with Hornet...it's all mighty fishy.

This is depressing. Not only can I not get a reply from *real* Monster.com job listings, I can't even get a reply from the fake ones.

Haha! Wouldn't it be funny if you Athena Astronautics was a REAL company, and you actually got hired? haha... Just makes me laugh thinking about the unexpected. Well... i guess i might as well apply.
Okay, I applied. Also sent an email to that gmail address. Talking about a student project and would like any addition information they could provide me with, including current projects they're working on. Won't know till you try... right?

I got my reply, and I'm going for it. So, I'll let anyone know if I receive a bomb with some anthrax or something.

Heh, I sent them my address. I'm in Australia so I doubt they'll send me anything anyway, even if it is all real. Just in case any of you are interested, here's the original email I sent to them:
William Davenport,
I am writing to you regarding the places advertised at Athena Astronautics. I would be very interesting in undergoing training at the faucility. There is something missing from my life; an empty space that yearns to be filled, to be shown the light. When I stumbled upon your contact information on www.monster.com, I knew that I had to investigate further. Please, I urge you to reply to this email. I will gladly provide any contact information and personal details that you ask of me.
I look forward to your reply.
-Keith Crawford.
I couldn't resist throwing in a couple of Echoes references . Maybe that helped, I dunno. NAO_Matt's reply is interesting. Maybe he has some extra info about the whole thing?

Got my package today, via FedEx. It's a copy of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes with a little folder and a letter rewarding me for my creativity.

Well, the slogan of the game appears to be "Protect the Light", so that could be the tie in.
