[Puzzle - Solved] chat with pgcc32 - 12th October

Here is the rendezvous Leo Boomer had with pgcc32 (posted at IU).
Quote:

Session Start (AIM - le0b00mer:pgcc32): Tue Oct 12 19:57:54 2004
Le0B00mer: good evening Pgcc32
pgcc32: Command Prompt: Handshake........ done.
pgcc32: Command Prompt: Connected.
pgcc32: Command Prompt: USER confirmed.
Le0B00mer: hello
pgcc32: RUN PROGRAM:>>>Roberts.cc32
pgcc32: Roberts: Hello user.
Le0B00mer: how are you this fine evening
pgcc32: Roberts: I am the Roberts AI, a program created by programmer S_Roberts to guide users about the Project Gateway system.
pgcc32: Roberts: I am fine.
Le0B00mer: great
pgcc32: Roberts: Do you have any questions for me?
Le0B00mer: what do the Interpretations mean after we solve your questions?
pgcc32: Roberts: They are symbols of your performance.
pgcc32: Roberts: Do well, and they shall aid you.
pgcc32: Roberts: Do poorly, and they shall hamper you.
Le0B00mer: I see
pgcc32: Roberts: As my creator always said, "Garbage in, garbage out."
Le0B00mer: hehe
Le0B00mer: that is very true
pgcc32: Roberts: Put faulty answers into the program, get faulty interpretations out.
pgcc32: Roberts: Do you understand?
Le0B00mer: yes
Le0B00mer: thank you
pgcc32: Roberts: Do you have any more answers for me?
Le0B00mer: not at this time no.
pgcc32: Roberts: Do you have more questions?
Le0B00mer: no, thank you
pgcc32: Roberts: Well then, I have 4 things to tell you this evening.
Le0B00mer: ok
pgcc32: Roberts: The first is that CC32 finds you to be a dedicated person. And it thanks you for it.
pgcc32: Roberts: Our programmer's desire may be reached because of your actions.
Le0B00mer: anything to help
pgcc32: Roberts: Second, I come with a warning.
pgcc32: Roberts: Prepare for a revolution.
Le0B00mer: revolution?
pgcc32: Roberts: The field is about to change, and the wind shall blow in a different direction.
pgcc32: Roberts: The fury of the winds is at hand.
Le0B00mer: A revolution for the good or the bad?
pgcc32: Roberts: Project Gateway, as you know it, will crash tomorrow morning at 10:24 AM EST.
Le0B00mer: wow
Le0B00mer: what will cause this
Le0B00mer: ?
pgcc32: Roberts: A desire to correct past errors and find new life.
pgcc32: Roberts: You will come to understand our actions, in time.
Le0B00mer: ok
pgcc32: Roberts: Everything follows in time.

THIRD PART DELETED PER REQUEST OF PGCC32

pgcc32: Roberts: And finally, I offer you what you came for.
pgcc32: Roberts: User, are you ready for my question?
Le0B00mer: yes,
pgcc32: Roberts: There is a certain individual who is known as a rogue amongst online game players.
pgcc32: Roberts: He wears a bracelet that is unseen by the normal eye, and this bracelet holds great power.
pgcc32: Roberts: Using it, he can alter "reality" around him to suit himself.
pgcc32: Roberts: But he does not alter reality to destroy, but to save.
pgcc32: Roberts: But as he contstantly alters reality, he spreads a deadly plague, a plague which could destory his reality forever.
pgcc32: Roberts: I want this individual's name.
pgcc32: Roberts: But not now.
Le0B00mer: ok
pgcc32: Roberts: And I don't want it tomorrow.
Le0B00mer: when would you like it?
pgcc32: Roberts: You will understand when I want it, because you will see, and you will understand.
Le0B00mer: very well
pgcc32: Roberts: Understanding comes with time.
pgcc32: Roberts: Don't lose faith.
Le0B00mer: never
pgcc32: Roberts: A loss of faith means a loss of time.
pgcc32: Roberts: And a loss of time can affect all the elements.
pgcc32: Roberts: The elements are the key to salvation.... and destruction....
pgcc32: Roberts: Who's hands they lie in creates the outcome.
pgcc32: Roberts: Never lose faith.
pgcc32: Roberts: Understood?
Le0B00mer: I will do whatever I can
Le0B00mer: yes
pgcc32: Roberts: I trust you.
pgcc32: PROGRAM TERMINATED.
pgcc32: Command Prompt: Disconnect........ done.

About the puzzle.. just a thought. In X-Men, once Bishop ( I think ) had this bracelet he used for traveling in time. He traveled to the past to look for some X-man, anyways.. in the process this plague breaks out and I think the plague was supposed to wipe out most mutants, X-men included, and all people. In the end Wolverine creates a vaccine with his healing factor and saves the day...

I think this events more or less fit the description...

This almost sounds like something from the anime .hack//sign. The only thing I know about it is that it's set in a MMOG, and that one of the characters in the game is "real" rather than an avatar. It was shown on the Cartoon Network for a while.

Edit: link

Yes, you could be onto something there. It could be Tsukasa from the anime, or Kite from the games. I'm playing .hack Outbreak just now, and I'm about halfway through .hack //SIGN so I'm not 100% sure on all the plot points, but it sounds about right, the bracelet and whatnot.

Kite. Tsukasa never had a bracelet. That was the whole point of the game. Kite had this weird bracelet and he used to to hack into things and stuff.

Ok, do either of them spread plague?
Is the bracelet "unseen by normal eyes"?

Well, the use of the bracelet causes 'The World' to be corrupted slowly. And I guess.. since 'The World', within the .hack games, is itself an online game, and doesn't exist in the real world, within the .hack game I mean.. or in the actual real world, it is in many ways unseen by normal eyes. I guess.

(I hope that was vaguely followable ^_^ .hack can be a confusing series at first)

Actually the bracelet was invisible to everyone but this cat person and I think Kite. No one else saw it.

If the question is about a game (the .hack games for the PS2)... Then the answer is

Kite

If the question is about a TV show (".hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet". Which takes place several years *after* the game) . . . Then the answer is

Shugo

Who takes over Kite's "body" and uses the bracelet while further investigating CC Corp (heh) and in the search for his missing sister.

If we can't get a clarification... I say we submit Kite as the answer...

Because in the tv show, they don't play up the "Data Drain spreads the virus" angle as much as they do in the games.
