[HUMOR/???] Something strange before my call yesterday.....

My call was at 16:18. At 16:17, the phone rang. I picked it up, expecting to hear Melissa, and was startled to hear some OTHER chick talking. Three letters popped into my head at that time. W.T.F.

She was rambling on about some DVD player or something, and wanted my credit card #. She sounded professional, and not like someone pranking me. Anyway, she asked me if I wanted to buy it, and I said no. She asked me if she could help me with anything else, and I said no.

Funny, yet very strange seeing as how my call was supposed to come in at that time.

One question: Is it normal for sales people to call payphones?

Only pay phones with people scheduled to be waiting around them, you think?

Speaking as someone who works in the industry, no. I suspect that the agent had misdialled or was working on obsolete calling info.

She almost cost me my call! She kept rambling on, not letting me get a word in edge wise. Twisted Evil

It could have been an autodialer (randomly dials phone numbers rather than going off a list). I worked at a phone survey company for three months and we would get all kinds of crazy numbers. Personally I got a Hershey chocolate plant, a Senator's office, and a phone sex line, among others. One guy in our office got a US Navy Submarine once.

"Darn those telemarketers, always waiting until its time to launch the nukes so they know we're in the sub too!"

That is just too funny.
