Okay. That is the funniest line I've heard yet.

erk.. I see/hear.. thanks MeKiwi. strange. from the way it was described in the 3 books, the death/malfunction of an AI seemed a more inevitable process of madness and death.

Come on, out of 5 pages I can't be the first one to point out that you can't have memories even disconnected one's that belong to someone else. If they did, they wouldn't be memories. They'd be playbacks or some such thing.
Those .wavs are saying that Durga=SP.

actually that was already pointed out in a few other threads and forums. Durga=SP=Melissa Again the SP/Melissa facture has not been solved - though Rampancy might be a possible explination of that. Particualrly since Melissa/SP somehow got sent back in time. I am surprised no one has made the connection that jerseys Dad "left" some jazz for him on his computer and all of the sudden Durga shows up. Hmmm.... (maybe this is also already trout and I missed it)

Those .wavs are saying that Durga=SP.
Actually, my current [SPEC]-string is that Melissa and Durga aren't exactly two parts of the same whole, but more like this:
2545 - Yasmine's brain gets mapped into AI. Yasmine's memories are part of new AI (Operator) but suppressed (as SP).
2552 - Artifact causes AI to duplicate (NOT split!), producing Melissa (with SP) and Durga (with SP). Then, time travel event happens to Melissa and frees SP. Durga's SP is still integrated into Durga, but due to age (as Durga is now 7 years old and she's stuck on Jersey's "small" computer, not a planet-size network), Durga is beginning to die (because as she goes rampant, she'll need a larger and larger network to survive) and as she dies, Durga's SP emerges.
Okay, could be way off, but that's the premise I'm working on right now...
