The problem I see with that spec, MeKiwi, is that it doesn't explain the connection between Melissa and Durga (And/or Durga and the SP). Where as the "split over time" spec does. Kinda.

Maybe it's not a clean duplication... or maybe it's a duplication like twins (I forget which kind), where the zygote splits. Many twins claim to have a "second sense" about their twin sibling...

But yeah, it's all pretty wild spec, I agree. And has lotsa holes. ^_^

again - over than the hole of the time jump thing - rather viable [SPEC] though MeKiwi - I like.....

We have to figure out the time travel connection and the rest should fall in place

sick_cat is live, and the Jersey Durga pairing is a match made in heaven.

In listening to the recent WAVs and then going back to the previous WAVs, something hit me. Recall that Herzog brought up the Allies cracking the Nazi's code in WWII, and the "terrible calculus" they had to perform (ethically) based on their information. Also recall (for those who read the books) that:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
in the end, Dr. Halsey decided she would no longer play by the "sacrifice one for the greater good" type mentality when she tells John-117 that she's decided every life is important and she's going to do all she can to save any one she can. Also recall that at the end of FS, John-117 comes to a more in-depth understanding of Dr. Halsey's "realization" and crushes the crystal that would "condemn" Seargent Johnson.
And now, in sick_cat, Jersey has the same dilemma (and conclusion). To me, that's an awful lot of "sacrifice one for the greater good" type decisions coming up in one setting, albeit the Haloverse.

So here's what I was thinking in listening to these latest WAVs: what if we, as the Beekeepers, have to make a similar decision? What if we have to choose whether or not to turn in Dana for the greater good? What if we have to choose to help Jersey turn Durga in for the greater good? It just kinda makes me wonder...

Honestly, I am too connected to all the characters right now to make an unbiased decision. Let them all live, that's what I say.

My guess is that's exactly the intent of the PMs. To show us the human condition. ^_^

But that's where the decision is made hard for us. Right now it would be so hard, but you know someone's going to bite it by the end. God this better have a good ending, and if it does, to me, it will put Halo as one of the greatest games ever, not just because of gameplay, but because of the large amount of immersion MS has made me get into the Haloverse in such a short period of time. They get my commendations for going in a very unique and most excellent direction to promote a game...something that rewards people before they even start playing the game...

Here is some wild spec, which is probably highly inaccurate in ,amy areas.

So we know there was more then one class of Spartan IIs. Timeline wise Yasmine was likely apart of the third group. We also know that the first class of Spartan IIs were made public knowledge, atleast partly, to help morale. So what happened to the other classes? I find it highly unlikely everyone of them after the first class weren't able to survive the augmentations. So what happened? We never hear of them in the books or the games. This game is the only story to actually confirm they exist, so they must have been kept in the black, even from the 1st class of Spartan IIs.

Now here is the spec. I really don't think Durga is rampant, the memories she is getting is from the Sleeping Princess we are talking to. That is most likely due to the same type of connection that Melissa has to Durga. Yasmine didn't necesarily die during the augmention. That is only one of 3 possiblities things that could have happened to her. The 2nd is she could have been maimed and died later. 3rd she could have died on some far away battle. Since she doesn't officially exist she wouldn't even have been placed on the MIA list like the MC's Spartans do.

Maybe in the story will learn more about the others, I hope I do. But regardless of whether or not we do we don't know for certain when Yasmine actually died. Everybody is just assuming she died from a failed augmentation.

Sorry, I think I may have missed something... do we have confirmation that more Spartan-II classes actually exist? Or are you mistakenly referring to JJ, Gladys, and Gillie (Spartan-Is)?

More important than any of this SPEC.. is there anywhere with transciptions up for those of us with dialup? TheBruce is good and all, but they're never up in realtime.

When theBruce's aren't quite updated, I often used Robynn's. Hope this helps!

It doesn't matter if the augmentation didn't kill her. When smart AI's are made, the brain that created them is destroyed. Yasmine can't be alive if Durga was made from her.
