I was busy today. Chatting with a reporter, accepting a private axon call, running around all afternoon for 17 out of 20 San Francisco axons. Missing talking to the Sleeping Princess because she called late. Poor ariock.

Anyway, around 10:30, I sent this to Melissa (note the pawn for the SP next to the cat's paw):

Here is my "recharge station"

Quote:
Melissa,

Loyal Crew Member and Friend Lt. Mad Cow reporting with yet another photo realistically made image to help you understand our time. The original image is of a gas station. In the year 2004 we use fossil fuels to power our vehicles. We get this fossil fueld (gas) at stations such as pictured.
This I believe would be similar to a recharge station for your vehicles. I have made my best attempt at a photo realistic image of a "recharge station" in the year 2552.

Loyal Crew Member and Friend,
Lt. Mad Cow

My Photo

Here is my entry...The aircraft carrier I saw on the way to answer axons just off the SF Bay Bridge from Oakland to SF.

The other ship is from the new Halo site. I hope it actually transports spaceships....it sure LOOKS like it does. Wink

- Ariock -

p.s. fresh cake for the birthday girl.

My lame submissions

Here's my letter to Mel:

Nobodyman wrote:

Hello Operator,

PFC Nobodyman reporting in. I have two exhibits to help orient you
to your current surroundings:

Exhibit 1 - mountbillg.jpg
I've used the crude computing technology available to me to make a
prediction of the impact of a prominant figure of this time.

Exhibit 2 - cold.jpg
Some things never change. In 2004, substances known as "vitamin C"
and "echinacea" were used in the battle. In 2552, reoviruses,
selective genome replacement therapy, even DNA sub-sample grafts have
proven ineffective against the common cold.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

//Nobodyman, PFC -- "Go Hot or Go Home!"

I sent it just under the wire -- here's hoping. Cheesy, I know. I'm a programmer, not a graphic artist!!!

I got mixed signals as to what we were actually supposed to be doing... So I explained to Melissa that I was going to cover my ass by doing a little bit of everything.

I stegged notes and sound files to the SP in them... But next time I think I'm just going to stick with putting something actually into the picture itself.

Here's what I sent.

Showing this one sent at 03:00:37 EDT -- hopefully 37 seconds late will still be okay!

Since the SP likes cakes, red balloons, and birthdays...

Quote:
In 2004 cakes are an important part of celebrations, such as birthdays, and are decorated accordingly. However, in 2552, life is tough and there is little time during war to make cakes pretty. They still exist to be eaten, but are merely functional. In some cases they don't even taste very good.

Here is what I sent

From my hometown on the beach (Biloxi, Mississippi.)

The 2004 picture was just the lighthouse on the beach.

I tease. Good Photoshopping, man. I just noticed the resemblance and as a comic fan had to say something.

Hehehe... Well...
I decided to go with the 1960's "retro-future" vision of 2552... Thought it might be funny. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find images to go with that theme? Noone seems to like kitsch these days. Sad

So, we make do with what we have Smile

I sent this one this morning.
I really hope she accepts it even though it's a late entry.

Bad alien. Copyrighted images and everything! I was contrasting social interaction now and in 2552.
