Also guys, I think she wants us to put some effort into this... how bout sketching the future object then scanning it and sending it.
It'd seem kinda weird to have exact pictures of objects from my time 500 years from now if I were an AI. (well mb not... but hey!)

Pictures

Sent her a picture of a tv (with Jon Stewart, looking foxy-fine as usual, on it) and a bad picture of a holographic projection.

We'll see what she says.

I just sent in a picture of a red hot air balloon, along with a modified picture of the same balloon with flames coming out of the end, silver bits all over it, and on a space background.

Edit - Here's my modified pic, the original can be found here (also sent).

Melissa,

I know that the phrase is 'You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar', but I sincerely wish you wouldn't have taken it so literally in the case of Dana's mother.

<sigh>

...in any case, you asked for comparisons of current and future objects. Fortunately, along with my powers of disguise, I have also developed a strong interest in the design of Artificial Intelligence--a field of which you are, of course, intimately aware. When scouting this time period, I tried to find accessible examples, in order to show you just how far the technology has come in the intervening centuries. After some careful reconnaissance and maneuvering, I was able to secure an early prototype model and take it to a location safe for imaging:

Notice the obvious, painfully limiting drawbacks:
- The size of the unit is taller than a grown man. I had to use a forklift to move it.
- This AI was apparently used for educational purposes--note its input pad. However, its small capacity limits it to a third-grade level at best.
- Check out that *pitiful* input buffer! 8 bytes? That's not even a flea's sneeze. As you can see, it's completely inadequate for serious work.
- Pictures don't do it justice, but...the voice pattern would make you laugh.

In contrast, prominent computer scientists have been hard at work prototyping the possible AIs of the future. One such representation of an AI at work is seen here.

Holographic imaging? Of course. It's needless to say that the construct is visually relaxing compared to the present-day model. Here you can see the AI Of The Future performing far more complex acts of tactical analysis and information process.

I hope you find this information sufficient for your needs.

Did a tank comparison. I have no artistic ability, so this is the best that's coming from me Wink

i was going to do this, but i don't have the time at the moment...

do a pic from the statue of liberty looking to where the WTC was, then from the future, add one of the plans (or just make up your own) and throw some taller buildings in there...
