Melissa comes forward in time and unbeknownst to her SP tags along. Jersey has the military shut down Durga while she and SP contain Melissa in a glass coffin. All of our remaining main characters survive but their stories are left hanging as the Covenant invade.

Each of the main characters will have cameos in Halo2. Rani is in Chawala Base and gives MC help/direction in getting the "Artifact". She has a name tag that is readable but the majority of players will both have no idea who she is and pronounce her name as "Rannie". Jan and her crew will be defending an area and calling out each others names as they need ammo. Kamal and Sophia will be at a civilian camp and as MC goes by he will here something like "It will be alright Sophia" and then "For a smart guy, you're pretty stupid". And finally, Jersey will be on his misguided mission to save the world and the pitiful rocket he fired toward the Covenant/Forerunner/Bad Guy Mother Ship will impact just as the explosion that MC arranged blows it to bits. Jersey and the rest of the world believe that it was his rocket that saved everyone and MC is so fed up with his life over the past month (2 novels and 2 games) that he and Cortana just slipstream the hell out of there.

The Holy Bloodsucker and SP move to India where marriage at her age is legal. All the SPArmy is invited to the wedding with a bath in the river Ganges afterwards.
Melissa blasts off into the sunset in a stolen Covie ship, with her crew in tow.
Dana's honey becomes the official honey of Xbox gamers everywhere, making her a millionaire.
Rani finds a new job
Jan becomes a supermodel, modeling Kevlar body armor.
Durga ends up on a ship's door holding Jersey's hand tightly in the frozen water...whoops, wrong movie.
Aiden becomes the new owner of half of Vegas's casinos and employs VPISteve as head of media.
Herbert is still on the dole. He now hates coffee.
Herbert's wife files for divorce, after revealing she is in love with Standish.

I think we'll either, A) Find the stories resolved, but with all characters knowing that the Covenant will be on top of earth in a matter of hours, and a slow calm will settle over the wavs.

Or B) We'll hear people screaming, explosions and chatters will go dead.

On how these stories resolve? Durga and Jersey I don't know. I suspect they will meet up with Ronnie and try to figure out the artifact and possibly destroy Standish and Section III. OR they will meet up with Kamal and we will see resolution and acceptance between Durga and Kamal.

I don't have a freaking clue what Jan will do. Perhaps Gilly will take her off the grid in preparation for the coming war.

this scenario came to me the other night while falling asleep:

Scene: Earth, Jersey City New Jersey, Master Chief's just blasted through legions of covies following a human signal that Cortanna's located, he's nearly out of ammo and now he's being chased by something BIG, its a hover-tank

MC: Talk to me Cortanna! That thing's closing in.
Cortanna: Up ahead, only another 2 blocks.

figure appears on top of ruined building

Figure: Hey! Spartan! Over here!

figure fires RPG at Covenant hover tank, the explosion throws MC forward, screen switches to cut-scene, MC slides through door past 2 humans holding weapons, gets up dusts self off, enter female, holding rocket launcher

MC: Thanks for saving my ass, to whom do i owe the pleasure
female: Don't mention it Spartan, I'm Jannisary James, we've secured this area from the Covies
MC: Master Chief 117
Jan: lemme show what we've got here, this m- Gilly, and Gladys they used to be spartans too
Gilly: damn right! we were one point oh, just like Jan's father... Lieutenant 78c (*or whatever JJ's spartan name was, i just made one up*)
MC: we studied his missions in training, your father's a great man Jan
Jan: was.....
Gladys: he always was, right up until the end

all pause awkwardly

Jan: this guy over here is Jersey, our resident hacker

Jersey looks at MC in stunned disbelief

Jersey: right! yeah uh... hi

Cortanna appears as hologram

Cortanna: You're the source of those transmissions

second hologram appears, like Cortanna but with middle-eastern features

Durga: yes, I'm Yasmine, I was the operator of the Apocolypso
Cortanna: Yasmine? but the operator of that ship was M-
Durga: I know, things are different now... I'M different now

Jan: look.. this is great and all... but any second the Covenant is going to come blasting through those doors, Master Chief... you think you can help us out?
MC: Just let me reload

from there, the Covenent attack the stronghold, you repel them along with Jan, Gilly, Gladys, and stupid_cop, afterwards, Cortanna and Durga find a new waypoint for MC to get to, the gang escorts you out to the surface again... from that point, Durga or Jan check in with you periodically about tactical updates or mission objectives

CoffeeJedi, I like the script. It does need the Bungie-style tweaking, but it's entertaining to think they'd all end up together helping out. I have the feeling we won't see more than references to our game characters, but I'm still hoping...

coffejedi, your fan fiction shows my idea completely!!! ... a new set of novels with these characters seeing as it seems unlikely we will be satisfied no matter how much the loose ends are tied up. WE WANT MORE!!! in the next two weeks, I expect it a bittersweet ending... perhaps one more main character will die (like Jersey losing his life in trying to reunite mecha-Yasmine with Kamal.) Durga, I think, will have found a way to beat the 7 year life span (thanks to those who care about her). There is too much talent involved with the creation of this story not to continue it on in books.... I, for one, would definitely read them. Soph and Kamal romance will be left up in the air (the unresolved tension keeps the story alive indefinitely.... it was part of the magic of moonlighting for those old enough to remember that show and what ultimately killed it was crossing that line)... anywhooo, that is my take.

oh god!!! no slash!!!! it could be worse..... MC could be a human/wolf hybrid thing, and i could have inserted myself into the story in an incredibly clumsy way "MC: wow! coffeejedi, you are the greatest warrior ever because you have saved the entire world from the covenenant single handedly"

that wasn't really fan-fiction, it was just my vision for a cut-scene i'd like to see, i'm going to go ahead and say that 90% of all fan-fic is complete and utter crap..... because for every one good amateur writer taking a stab at using someone else's character, there's nine 15 year old girls writing about an anime character falling in love with them
