David Sandstrom, PHD. (Swede on Labmole?)
Chief Scientist
David Sandstrom was born in Toronto, Canada. he received his B.Sc at the University of Toronto and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at McGill university. As a postdoctoral student in Dr. Dennis Li's genetics lab at Standfor, he continued his breakthrough research on stem cells. Subsequently, David was given his own labat the school and surrounded himself with experts in physics, chemistry, engineering and neuroscience, making pioneering strides in the field of unified Research.

From there David moved to La Jolla, where he ran Bowmore Biotech's cutting-edge research lab in geonomics, proteomics and contagious diseases. After being awarded the prestigious MacArthur Fellow, he returned to Toronto and founded his own lab, Sandstrom Research, which he led until 2002.

As NorBAC's Chief Scientist, David Sandstom now investigates the investigators. his personal research focus is the study of the Spanish Flu.

Caroline Morrison (Eagle Eye on Labmole?)
Executive Director
After earning her B.A. in Internation Studies at Swarthmore University, Caroline Morrison won a Rhodes Scholarship and completed a Master of Philosophy degree in International Relations at Oxford. Subsequently, the Connecticut native received a degree in International Law at Yale.

From there Caroline was hired as a senior policy analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense's Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). She became DARPA's Director of Analysis, and then moved on to co-chair the NATO Security and Intelligence Committee. At the same time, Caroline sat on the President Council on national Security

Carlos Serrano, M.D., Ph.D. (Scarlo on Labmole?)

After obtaining his M.D. from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, Carlos Serrano earned a Ph.D. in Genetics at Columbia, where he began groundbreaking work in the cell biology of host-pathogen interractions. He completed a residency in the Genetics of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University and spent a year in the Democratic Republic of the Conto with Medecins sans Frontieres. Subsequently, Carlos returned to Mexico and accepted a senior research position at the Centro de Investigaciones Sobre Enfermedades Infecciosas (CISEI) studying Dengue Fever

Bob Melnikov, Ph.D (Boob on Labmole?)
Senior Researcher, Biochemistry
Bob Melnikov was born in the Ukraine. He emigrated with his family to Israel when he was 7, and to Canada when he was 8. He completed a Bsc in Physics, an MA in Mathematics and a Ph.D in Biochemestry at the University of Toronto. His research includes mitochondrial dysfunction, volatile organic compounds, ancient Assyrian history, and the distribution of prime numbers. He is currently at work on his third doctorate
