As Seej says, here and now is not the time for a political discussion. If you'd like to discuss a disagreement with a comment someone made then take it to PM, it's not relevant and therefore it shouldn't be here.

Laughing Unfortunately, that's Roswell in New Mexico, whereas I live in Roswell, Georgia.

Sorry if my "mud-slinging" comment stirred anything up, I just wanted to keep things happy between all of us.

Another starter

Hi guys, Newbie here. Have been checking out these threads and searching for clues for what seems like ages. Am based in London as well which might help if it is semi based here. Like the rest of you, I have been grasping at straws! The initials of the old town address gave me an ebay address of a cosmic cube,( http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=otstot+cube&meta= ) but cant seem to view it. Then i managed to find this site, ( http://usnisa.org/cosmic_cube/index.html ) which makes no sense whatsoever, kinda new agey! Confused And am now going mad! lol Look forward to joining in though.

Cosmic Cube

While the living cosmic cube site looks awful wack, and not something in-game to me yet, it did lead me to the -real- cosmic cube. Created in 1985 by Charles L. Seitz, the first multicomputer. That also doesn't seem in any way connected, but might be good to keep in mind as a reference.

Going back to the location of the buildings in that pic;

I've found an area that looks extremely like the view from the pic, however I realise this is a huge longshot, I might go over there and have a peek in the next week for a laugh Screwy, I'm sure that even if we do find the building its not going to affect anything, but i'm bored and fancy a walk Wink , someone had mentioned it before i think, but if your interested I think its just past Shepard's Bush, possible before Nottinghill, I can see the buildings, not sure exactly which area it is though.....

If I go, I'll get some photos Razz

I believe that London might have a significance later on, but right now, I think it's way too early to start throwing around wild speculation. We'll just end up confusing ourselves.

While it's good to think outside the box and take in everything we have, I can pretty much say for certain that the current puzzles lay in the video and the newspapers.

Excuse me, I need to go find a copy of the Sun. Sad

Ha, I think they would have included a specific building if they wanted us to identify it positively as London (or any other city). Maybe the gherkin? Wink

looking at pp7/indexB image i notice the bottom right. the words that are most clearest words are "to its right" "city's highest"... and then financial reward.

tallest buildings in london anyone, and the view from the top, or from the building neaby. highest financial building (not sure about tower 42) perhaps also...
they are building a new building to be higher than canary wharf

top left image - is it morning or evening. is it looking east or west? i reckon evening, in which case the picture faces the west. might help narrow down locations

That's an interesting point, chippy. Someone upthread has already speculated that the view is from somewhere in West London, so if the photo is of a sunset that seems to support the spec.

Tallest tower in London

According to http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/ci/bu/sk/li/?id=100637&bt=2&ht=2&sro=1 the tallest completed skyscraper in London is One Canada Square at 235 m (50 floors).

Oh dear, I spent several hrs the other night looking for 60's & 70's tower blocks!!! This site does give dates etc, but there were so many roughly in the right time period to give that shape of building that I gave up!

Not sure this will help, but it could save someone time searching.

J
