The End, beautiful friends, the End

Congratulations. You have found nothing. What information did you really think we would place here, to be found so easily. Do you think we are fools?

Instead, the moment this page was accessed a message was sent, many places at once. By solving the password log-ins and answering the questions along the way to finding this page, you have proven that too mucn information has become known and it has served its purpose. It is time to disappear.

Thos who have knowledge of us shall earn their just reward. Piece by piece the evidence of our existence shall fade until nothing remains. But there are other faces, other facades. And time is on our side.

For some reason, I don't think so. For it to be over, we all have to be murdered. WHO'S NEXT!? INTERROBANG!

I say we draw straws and the short straw has to go offer themselves as a sacrafice for them to do whatever they want with them, so we all escape. Or even better, we send a group of people. Genius!

Well I'm willing to accept that it's the end, however it doesn't feel like an ending. Not because the ending wasn't happy, if that was just the case I would be satisfied and be able to move on. However there are still quite a few questions left.

It's possible all the information is there, and I'm supposed to fill in the blanks, but it doesn't seem to be that way. Maybe this is how the PM's wanted it to be, making the game more "real" by leaving us without knowing what exactly the Seventh Sons are, but then that leaves me the "then what was the point" kind of feeling. Why wouldn't "Ron" just off Jamie & Co. after they made contact and instead expose us to all this information post that part of the game (about halfway I'd say)? Why did the final pages to the two longest puzzle pages lead to a confession which we already kind of knew and the other to a sort of "Haha biatches" message. But again that's thinking from a narrative point of few and not "reality" where life doesn't always hand you everything and games are played without you winning.

I think my post this far has a negative tone, however I really did enjoyed this experience despite what I've written. Great puzzles and still a great story though I still want to know more. This was my first ARG I've followed from (almost) start to finish, and even though I discovered this game because of ilovebees, I spent more time lurking in these forums. I'm very appreciative to the creators and more-so to the handfull of people here who are smarter than me and able to keep things moving.

Hopefully the PM's will quell my ending apprehensions eventually...or I will be left to contemplate it the rest of my days *imagines PM's smiling*.

well, yes... for the most part, most of the questions are easily pieced together. we have a couple things left to solve, game end or not. there is the one path of unraveling we have yet to solve {see if it leads to something different maybe?} and of course, dead poems {and on that note, i think i read someplace there is going to be a second book, and that in and of itself makes the game not fully over!}

but we do know who they are. they are a secret society bent on creating a "population" of seventh of seventh sons, and they were kidnapping people as breeders {such as michael whom we found out is a seventh son} We don't fully know WHY they want to do this, but it's been being done for a long long time, it seems, possibly before the story of Fiona & her baby with goldmine hotel.

well, my theory, and one that is becoming very popular, is that ron was a goon. Hired pawn. Most likely already a member of the 7th sons. He was hired when TT discovered Ed's hidden message in the form letter. He was hired to find ed, and find all those who have discovered his letter. in the process, however, he needed to use us to find Ed. the idea being that they knew eventually someone would contact TT asking about it, they needed an "innocent" to play along. in doing this, having someone to "play along" with us, we fed them all the information they needed. Somehow in this whole process, they discovered Jaimie, and John. Not only did Ron need to kill both of them, but he needed to use them to get information. When he got all he could from them, used them to the best wasy he could, he killed them in such a way that made it look suspicious, but still could possibly be believed, how ever far fetched. After he used us to find Ed, The &th sons needed ron to use Ed to help them find all of us, hence, solving 7th sons. more on that below however.

Well, in the case of 7th sons, it was always meant as a tracking device. a way to trick us, and Ed, into giving away our locations {as well as wasting time, and discovering how much we really knew about them}. In the case of the unraveling, it can be assumed we were supposed to solve that before his confessional. We also still don't know what the other pathway there is.

i hope this helped!

A Message From The PMs

The Puppetmasters of Urban Hunt would like to thank everyone who participated in the game throughout its three month run. We are extremely proud of the experience we created and delivered and you, the players, made it a truly enjoyable and rewarding experience for us.

We hope that you had as much fun along the way as we did and that we may have inspired at least a few of you to continue playing ARGs or even try creating one yourself.

We will be having a Post Game PM Chat this coming weekend, Sunday November 7th, 2004. The time will be decided and announced shortly and we would certainly like suggestions from you as to what time would work best for all the players and time zones involved. The PM team will try and answer any and all questions at that time and we would ask that you refrain from asking any of the team questions about the game until then, if you happen to see them online.

Once again, thank you all for everything. We'll see you all on Sunday. In the meantime, keep your door locked. Wink

Thanks for everything, PMs. This was the first ARG I not only followed, but actively partcipated in (200 posts' worth) , and I enjoyed it tremendously.

If there's any dissatisfaction with the ending, it's because the ARG was so good we didn't want it to end! Smile

6pm CST or later would be great for me. Since I'm what matters, that's when it will be, thanks everyone.

I've got Pirates rehearsal on Sunday, but Sunday evening should be fine. I hope. After 4 PM PST, I guess, will be alright.

I'd like it to be after 5p PST (since I have to work on Sunday).

Can you please email my hubby (or call) to convince him to let me participate in the chat. Might help if you apologize for my alienation of affection during these past 3 months.

I tried to show him how you sort of included him in the game. And that he could have participated more if he had wanted.

And I swore I would not do any more ARGs this year.

and Thanks Dave (et al)!

Thanks Pixiestix for addressing some of my issues. Those two things are what weigh on my mind most right now. I realize we know what the 7th's are doing, I'm just curious to know why, although it's possible it's just some theory that the 7th son will be some sort of messiah or the next step of evolution or something. While I'm curious to know more about Anne and her family, I think that's cut and dry (she was in the hospital and found out what was happening and kept up her charade and tried to let others know).

About the end of the sites: Yeah after posting that I realized the Unraveling has been around for a while. Also, I wasn't around (damn college/Halo) when you guys broke through the 7th's site so I just saw the transcript of the message here, but looking back again I finally noticed the tracking "thingy".

Man between this, (to quote the guide) "EVERYONE DIES" and the possible bad ending for our protagonist in ILB (Rani's ominous whisper), it's not happy days in ARG world...
I know the Covenant come anyway, but if it turns out to be their fault, that sucks for them.

To the PM's: Thank you for putting this all together. I really did enjoy the game and just because I want to actually be led into the den of the Seventh Sons and have an interview with them, that doesn't detract from the experience Wink

I hope it goes without saying that the transcripts will be available here for the chat. Please!
