I know who you are, of course. the great the bruce! Thank you so much
for helping everyone keep track of all our friends in the future.
I'm so busy confirming RSVPs for the live training events that I'm not
doing communication log confirmations yet. But just because you've
been such a big help, I wanted to let you know: not to worry, I will
take care of you!

Dana always takes care of her crew!
though, she hasn't asked for an address yet... I didn't send it in my first email, hoping she'd at least reply asking for it, so I could be sure of a response if it was good...
what could that mean?
Still Free burritos all around!

I bit of a cross post... but I figured this belonged here.
I'm with you thebruce. I'm a bit worried that I won't make it to Chicago in time, so I sent this email to Dana, and recieved a reply that made me happy...

Congratulations on your success at eliminating the rogue process. I can only imagine how trying that could be, knowing that your aunt was in the danger she was in. I am extremely relieved to see that the Melissa situation as for the most part has been resolved, and that you and your aunt are out of harms way.
I am a bit concerned though about the possibility of not acquiring a copy of
the comm. log. This is my situation. I will be attempting to participate in
the Chicago event. I live in Oklahoma and will be making a twelve hour
drive to participate, but I can not leave Oklahoma until 07:00 CST due to a
medical research study I am currently involved in. I have never made a trip to Chicago before and I am only estimating on the twelve hours, it could easily be more... or less. Were I to miss out on the event due to it being full I would be incredibly dissapointed, especially after that long trip,
but I would never expect preferential treatment just due to my circumstances. Instead I desired to inquire about the possibilities of
recieving a comm. log via mail to more or less cover all my bases. That way if I don't make it to the event in time and it fills up as quickly as I
would expect, I can at least rest assured knowing I will recieve a comm. log.
If it were possible for you to send me one, I would not, under any
circumstances, attempt to acquire one at the event were I to make it in
time. I know that leaves you with only my word as colateral, and I
understand if that is not enough. I believe I have shown my true colors in
the field while coordinating the calls for the relay that ultimately saved
your aunt, and I hope that action would show my willingness to follow orders and assist where necessary. I truly appreciate your consideration on this matter, and what ever you decide I will follow with out question.
My address, should you choose to use it, is:
Billy Madison
1234 IMaDORK Dr.
Willis, Ok 73099
your friend,
Major Comm Officer angelo

Hi Angelo,
Write me again after the training event on November 4th if you weren't
able to pick up the communications log in Chicago, okay? If you miss
the log on the 4th, I'll take care of you. Just be sure to let me
know.
good luck!

Congratulations theBruce!
But, hey, shouldn't this thread be in the "Interactions" forum?
Oh, I forgot, there's no eating allowed on that thread.
Okay, when you all finish your burritos please move over to Interactions!

Good. Glad to hear you're being taken care of -- you both deserve it.
Bruce, can I take you off the lottery list?

Well I'm not sure I'm the only one thinks this - but I always thought of the lottery list as more of a general swag thing than a 'special gift for those who come' thing - ie, one per person at the event, vs free gifts and such... if, of course, the lottery (hypothetically) only has dvd's and lanyards in it, then yeah I'll gladly offer my chances to someone else... but I'm more of thought now that there won't be general swag anyway.. at least not on a scale that there would be extras once everybody's got stuff. if everyone is getting something for being there, I'd imagine if there's anything else it'll be like a name from the hat type of draw, or tossing cd's or hats into the crowd or something...
so if it's not too much to ask, I'd at least like to stay on the list, and if there's nothing of interest, then yeah I'll gladly withdraw my name...
and to close the message on a positive note - thanks a whole lot Phaedra for your efforts... it's a tribute to the community to see the kind of care and loyalty we see between all the beekeepers... mad pr0ps!

One for all, and all for burritos!
Yeah, I like the community that's gathered around ILB. Great folks looking out for each other and working together. *sniff* Almost makes me wish this wouldn't end. Except that not knowing how the story turns out would kill everyone !
-- Steve's gotta remember to email Dana when he gets home... maybe he qualifies too, though not nearly as much as thebruce.

I'm not sure if I'll make it sunday. I emailed Dana asking if she would give the hookup AFTER the event to those who weren't sure..

Hi Bug,
Get in touch if you miss the cache pickup, okay? I'll be too busy
overseeing the live training events to deal with mailings for a little
while, so there's plenty of time to get on the list if you miss the
cache pickup. I promise I'll take care of you-- I know you were the
bravest axon hunter of all!!
