My spectake on the chinese fairy tale:

I'm almost certain the cat and dog are Melissa and SP. The attempt on Sunday will somehow parallel the cat's scheme to get the wand back. The wand is (perhaps) the artifact.
(Reasoning: not only is it natural to identify one maguffin with the other, the cat uses the wand to get back home.)
I'm not sure who is the cat and who the dog; in fact in this interpretation that becomes the pivotal question. We know Melissa is trying to trap SP, so maybe she's the cat? In that case Melissa's plan would presumably involve tricking SP into causing some kind of diversion, and then getting home herself, leaving the SP in the cold. I dunno, comments?

That's an interesting take on that. But I'm still assuming that Dana is making posts on her blog, as I don't think Melissa has found it yet. That would be a kick if it was Melissa that was actually making posts on the blog.

Very valid idea. I hate these stories... you can take them many different ways. I'm sure the PMs are loving all the spec and thought going into their game!

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but does anyone find the lack of "fail" after this line a bit unnerving?
