Nice find! Odd that it's scheduled for 7AM, not 3PM though.

The first few hundred crew members to sign up will be guaranteed admission under these conditions, according to Melissa on 404. How big will these events be? Is she guarenteeing admission for the first few hundred to register for each location? Or is this first few hundred period?
Questions that linger in my mind...

Arrow My spec is: Could it be a press event and as beekeepers we get rewarded for being a part of the game?

I got some information that I am pretty sure is where we will be. I seen someone else bring ups Kips Bay Plaza, my thoughts exactly good find. Here is the info:

Address:

550 2nd Ave.
New York, NY 10016

And a picture:

I'm still searching for more information to help people find it

This page has some architectural pics

You know bloody well that's what I meant. But, as always, your willingess to use words when telepathy will do just as well far surpasses mine. Razz
Thanks for the clarification, although I think you overestimate the average person (male or female) and their ability to mature as they age.

I think it's only going to be 100 people at each location making for a grand total of 400.

Exactly. I think this event is not just for us. I expect this to be a Halo 2 multiplayer event, and they may just be pulling people off the street for this as well. Glad to know we will get "priority admission".

It warms my heart to know that the PMs are watching out for us and throwing us a bone!

Phaedra, I really love your posts. It just gave me hope that one day I won't feel completely ostracized from my peers. I'm not saying I know myself any better than the average person my age, I just do it in a totally different way.

So, what's happening if you're under 16(I turn 17 in December. DECEMBER!) Is there no way I'm legally going to be able to go?

Argh, because the Long Island to NYC commute is nothing. (As long as I get to leave at a reasonable time[screw Rush Hours])

Hey Kips Bay Plaza may have been renamed Kips Bay Towers, I found some information that says this could be right.

http://www.kipsbaytowers.com

Also, I found some information on stuff that is located at 2nd ave and 32nd, or really close here is the information:

Kips Bay Towers is a convenient location. Situated between Gramercy Park and Murray Hill, residents enjoy access to every form of public transportation as well as the FDR Drive and Midtown Tunnel.

On Second Avenue, near 32nd Street, there is a 15-screen Loews Theater Multiplex, Borders Bookstore, Crunch Fitness Center, New York Sports Club, Rite-Aid and Duane Reade stores. Around the neighborhood you will also find many restaurants offering fine, casual and pub dining, specialty gourmet markets and well-stocked supermarkets.

P. S. 116 is located at 210 East 33rd Street, while the United Nations School and Baruch College are just minutes away. Nearby is the Kips Bay Branch of the New York Public Library as well as many churches and synagogues. In walking distance are the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Morgan Library and the UN. A short ride will take you to the theatre district, Carnegie Hall and virtually every museum in Manhattan.

Kips Bay Towers has the distinct advantage of being located directly across the street from the prestigious New York University Medical Center.

Okay, do you see the part I bolded?? here is a [WILD SPEC], we WILL NOT be playing Halo 2, however, we will be at the 15-screen Loews Theater Multiplex watching a movie about some characters named, jersey, kamal, sophia, janesary james, j^2, hiro, etc Wink

Considering the link found above to the Halo 2 event. It looks like they will be doing "walk ins" earlier in the day in New York, and the "Beekeepers" will be later in the afternoon/evening.

That it is a press event seems certain.

I also found this link:

Major League Gaming website advertisement

It's interesting that the NYC event is in the morning, and the Beekeeper event is in the evening. Perhaps they're at the same location and they're giving 50 walk-ins the chance to play, but they're giving "the first few hundred" people to show up at these four locations to play.

I'm assuming that it's going to be like the MLG/Coldpizza event. Only 50 or so allowed at each location (200 total). Unless they rotate people in and out of slots (which I wouldn't mind sharing my seat with some of the people in SF and trading off the controller so that others can enjoy the experience!)

...

Just don't hog my controller if I share Twisted Evil

As ultimately cool as that would be, I really don't think that is what we will do. After all, Melissa told us that it would be "utilizing squad-oriented combat simulation LIVEware"

I would kiss the PMs if they made it into a film somehow.

So this means that the one in Chicago/Schaumburg is going to be at the Loews Cineplex there.

As cool as that would be, the Op's message sounds clearly like we'll be playing Halo or Halo2 on XBLive: "Combat Training Exercise --I have arranged a special training exercise for crewmembers 17 and older, utilizing squad-oriented combat simulation LIVEware, for Thursday, Nov. 4, from 18:00 – 21:00 Pacific time at the following coordinates:..."

Now can someone please confirm the time for me? 9pm? est.

EDIT: How about if we get to play on the movie theatre screens? That would be AMAZING....
