So what are you putting on it?

I figured I would make signs to wave around when i'm a spectator.

Here's what I got so far:

I have one more BIG sheet of posterboard.

I want to put something silly like

"Seek >> Reveal >> Behold >> PWNED!!1!"

Any suggestions?

Someone just moved in and has a bunch of cardboard outside. I'm going to go ask if I can have some to make some signs!

"wort wort wort!" I love it.

A for effort

Thanks for the map Spie. It is excellent! Very Happy

Where I am staying is within walking distance of our meeting place, but if we do have any post activities that would not be I would need one of the free spaces in a car.

I also know how you feel Hyacinthe. I am 26, but have done very little traveling (and none of it was by myself or planned by me until this trip.) But with all of the support you have from this group, I dont think you have anything to worry about

Dang, Fugitivesoldier you took one of my ideas!

Mind if another Wort Wort Wort sign is there? (Just so you understand why) When I would be hanging out with my Halo buddies and we would not be talking, just sitting and playing, I would randomly say Wort Wort Wort. Then I started using different inflections to the point where each inflection meant something different. Its crazy.

Yep things will be fine. I don't know how but they will. My boyfriend's mom flat out denied the use of a hotel room, even though our best friend (yes, my boyfriend and I have the same best friend) will be there. My mom said flat out no to us driving home that late at night. Sooooo, we are getting our parents to talk. I say screw it, I'm going to do whatever I'm going to do.

I don't mind at all!

It would be cool if the theater was packed with signage like a pro sporting event.

T-Shirts

I've been looking for blank t-shirts to use for our iron-on decals, and I think I've found some that will pretty easy for all of us to find. Old Navy has some nice baby dolls and women's fitted long sleeve tees in black:

http://www.oldnavy.com/asp/Product.asp?wdid=200301&wpid=250747

I'm going to go try them on to see which one is the most comfy, but I'm leaning towards getting one of the long sleeved tees. It's November, in Chicago, in a movie theater, and I don't want to freeze my butt off.

How about a team/clan name of:

The Pollinators

or

The Pistil Whores - "It's a legitimate strategy!"

(as taken from http://www.glenroseffa.org/Plants%204.ppt... A flower that has all four major flower parts: Pistil, Stamen, Calyx, Corolla)

Hyacinthe, I know how you feel also. I have traveled a lot, but always with my parents. I am only 19, and am flying from Denver to Chicago all on my own to be there. I am so excited, however, so I haven't had any time to worry or anything, I'ts gonna be awesome. I do know one person who lives in Chicago, and I know someone else who is going to be visiting to check out colleges this week. It is really weird, I had 2 friends over to play Halo(one is a beekeeper, but the other isn't), and we tried to explain to the non-beekeeper friend that I was going to Chicago to play Halo 2, and he says "Oh, well I'm gonna be in Chicago this week also." So I talked him into coming. It was just meant to be, I guess. What are the odds that he is going to be there the very day that this is happening, that he isn't doing anything that night, and that his hotel is like 10 minutes from Woodfield. It is fate!

There you go sweetheart. That's what I've been waiting for you to say.

Listen, I have often told my wife this, because she lived a pretty sheltered life and tends to be shy. We all have a comfort zone, think of it as a bubble that surrounds us. For some of us, like you, that bubble is very thin and close to you. For others it is thick and extends way out.
The only way for you to ever expand your comfort zone is to do something that is outside of it. Then you will have the confidence to push out your bubble to incorporate bigger challenges, such as the one you just accomplished.

Aside from having a lot of fun on Thursday, I anticipate that you will have a lot more confidence in yourself. You will also take pride that you planned a substantial trip and completeded it succssfully.

I'm glad the map helps. I know how nice it is to have some forsight when your going out into the relative unknown. However, I'm proud of you and for everyone else that is pushing their limits with this trip.

I love it (I'm a science dork), but remember. The pistol has been toned down in H2.

I'm going to make a WORT sign right now. I, too, have been known to walk around the house after haloing "talking" like that
