I really hope I make it in time for the event, but I was even more worried that I would miss out on the Comm log that would be given out. So, I dropped Dana a note explaining my situation (which can be read below) and she responded with a wonderful reply. Dana definitely moved up on my appreciation list...

Dana,

Major Comm Officer angelo reporting.

Congratulations on your success at eliminating the rogue process. I can only imagine how trying that could be, knowing that your aunt was in the danger she was in. I am extremely relieved to see that the Melissa situation as for the most part has been resolved, and that you and your aunt are out of harms way.

I am a bit concerned though about the possibility of not acquiring a copy of
the comm. log. This is my situation. I will be attempting to participate in
the Chicago event. I live in Oklahoma and will be making a twelve hour
drive to participate, but I can not leave Oklahoma until 07:00 CST due to a
medical research study I am currently involved in. I have never made a trip to Chicago before and I am only estimating on the twelve hours, it could easily be more... or less. Were I to miss out on the event due to it being full I would be incredibly dissapointed, especially after that long trip,
but I would never expect preferential treatment just due to my circumstances. Instead I desired to inquire about the possibilities of
recieving a comm. log via mail to more or less cover all my bases. That way if I don't make it to the event in time and it fills up as quickly as I
would expect, I can at least rest assured knowing I will recieve a comm. log.

If it were possible for you to send me one, I would not, under any
circumstances, attempt to acquire one at the event were I to make it in
time. I know that leaves you with only my word as colateral, and I
understand if that is not enough. I believe I have shown my true colors in
the field while coordinating the calls for the relay that ultimately saved
your aunt, and I hope that action would show my willingness to follow orders and assist where necessary. I truly appreciate your consideration on this matter, and what ever you decide I will follow with out question.

My address, should you choose to use it, is:

Billy Madison
1234 IMaDORK Dr.
Willis, Ok 73099

your friend,

Major Comm Officer angelo

know.
good luck! Smile

And I'll pay to see that Very Happy

Folks, it looks like we're totally legit on the security issue. I have had conversations with the Sr. Vice President of Levy Security (the rent-a-cop company) as well as the local head of security at the Streets of Woodfield. They know of our plan to be on the roof of the parking garage - and will let the officers on duty know about it- and have no problems with us as long as we are under control and patroning the local stores.

As a funny side. The property manager "looked" into my claim that there would be a huge event on thursday. No one she talked to at Lowes knew anything about it. I put in a call to her and have yet to hear back, but we should have our bases covered.

You folks that are driving 9 hours to get here - please bring deoderent and a toothbrush Smile

About 24 hours ago my girlfriend sent a request to attend and has yet to receive word. Should she/we be worried?

My ILB soundtrack didn't really pan out. It quickly degenerated into just a bunch of music I like. Although I could stretch some of the songs to make them fit.

<snip list>

In case you couldnt place some of the bands, I have really odd tastes and prefer kick ass girl bands and older guy bands.

Yeah, I couldn't place many of the bands, but that's not surprising; I don't listen to a whole lot of American pop music.

Odd tastes...well, so far my car CD contains music by:

Noa
Anael
Samuel Barber
Mozart
Puccini
Handel
Apocalyptica
Claude Chaloub
Kroke/Nigel Kennedy
The Mediaeval Baebes
Loreena McKennitt
Dead Can Dance
Anonymous 4
Tchaikovsky
Sting
Martin Tillman
Ofra Haza
Klaus Badelt
Sarah Slean
Iva Bittova
Howard Shore
Itzhak Perlman
Gaelic Storm
Rachmaninoff
Azam Ali
Alabina
Anggun
Brian Tyler
Chava Alberstein/the Klezmatics
Dulce Pontes
Fiona Apple
James Newton Howard
John Williams
Kate Rusby
Madredeus
Natalie Merchant
Mikis Theodorakis
Neshama Carlebach
Peter Gabriel
Sarah McLachlan
They Might Be Giants
Kate Bush
Yehudit Ravitz

So, I think it's safe to say our CDs will have nothing in common.

No Phaedra, I could tell some of your music. I <3 Rachmaninov, as sad as that sounds, he is by far my favorite composer. Except maybe Franz Liszt... never was too fond of Tchaikovsky for the most part... My best friend is a crazy prodigy piano player, I know more classical piano music than one would think. I also see some kick ass women, Loreena Mckennit is "teh cool". When I saw mists of Avalon (I think thats what the name of that t.v. movie thing was) I got into her. That and dad loved her version of Bonnie Portmore. We played it at his funeral. And what can I say about They Might be Giants. They kick ass. Dead Can Dance is wonderful. I have a soft spot for old 80s style goth music. Siouxsie is better though... sometimes Peter Murphy too but Bauhaus can be too over the top. Razz

[/end rant]

I don't know too much of your music, but from what I can tell, I like. Razz I had to use only certain types of music I like, because my boyfriend doesn't go for the classical/80s goth stuff/some other kinda of music I like.

A lot of the music I like are local bands (although not my area) Example, Veruca Salt = australia
Voltaire = NJ
HIM = somewhere in Europe
VNV nation = G.B.
the other bands are more well known, but they are dated with the exception of Auf Der Maur. The only trendy song in there is the Stills- still in love.

I'll burn you a copy, Phaedra, if you'd like. This CD actually is a bit more rock than I usually like to listen to in one sitting.

I for one have no problem forcing the offensive smelling boysinto a perfume shop at all. In fact, as a member of the Goddess Army, I vote we do. Laughing

I'd put that on the map, but I don't know where it is.
