Just visited the poll, and it looks like they might be planning to move it around -- have it in NY in June, Chicago next fall, etc.

So, we might still win out, despite the fact that we're trailing New York by 3 votes.

What exactly is a ARG-o-fest?

Just a get together for geeks like myself? or is it something more?

I'd be perfectly happy with the first.

What makes you think I know? Razz

I just want it, whatever it is, in Chicago.

Hmm. Speaking of which, did everyone vote for the ARG-o-Fest?
I did. I voted for DC (Hey, it's closer!). That's why I asked for a ranked-vote on the location. Of all the available options, I would have ranked them

1. Atlanta
2. DC
3. Chicago
4+ Don't care

This has the advantage that, if neither Atlanta nor DC has enough votes to win, my vote automatically gets thrown to Chicago. I sent a PM to SpaceBass asking to have a ranked-voting module added to the forum (it already exists, of course), but I haven't heard anything in days.

An ARGfest is an opportunity for public mayhem, puzzle-solving, camaraderie, and, in your case, some good old fashioned Halo smack talkin'. In other words, it's whatever y'all want it to be. It's an opportunity for Unfictioneers to put names to faces outside of the context of a particular game (unlike a formal training exercise or a PM meet-and-greet, attendees at ARGfests often come from all different factions of the ARG world.)

Often there is some form of on-site puzzle created by the gathering's local sponsors. Many people take incriminating pictures. Others dance the rhumba in lederhosen while wearing Richard Nixon masks. If this sounds like it mght be too dangerous for you, RUN AWAY!!!! Otherwise, c'mon along! It's good solid wholesome Fun For The Whole Family!!

Sounds like great fun.

Hopefully we'll have one, at some point, in Chicago.

In that case, I think we already had an ARGofest in Chicago.

1. There were people who play ARGs.
2. There was public mayhem at Chipotle.
3. There was camaraderie with Chuck Blevens.
4. There was some great Halo smack-talking courtesy of Kali.
5. There was puzzle-solving.

I rest my case.

I talk smack? ME? Never. I'm a very polite, well mannered young lady. Screwy

<why isn't there a mr. yucky emoticon?>

So, whatever happened to Hyacinthe?

Did we scare her away at the Chicago event?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I doubt we scared her away. But maybe she got grounded for staying out too late?

Kali - I have some pictures of you playing on system link, but I didn't want to use the flash and blind you while you were playing and they didn't turn out so nicely. (Not that you're not nice looking - the pictures just didn't turn out well and you would be pissed if I put them up Smile )

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but Chuck Blevens name is in the credits at the end.

So, I think we need to update the contact list again, since I was going to send everyone a Happy Thanksgiving message, but I'm a wee bit confused.

One of the things we didn't include on the contact list was what everyone wants to be called.

Some people have signed their emails with their (I assume) real names, others have used their forum names, etc. It's probably time for a gamertag update as well.

Yes, I hope everyone had a wonderful, delicious, and restful Thanksgiving.

Maybe. She just *vanished.*

I did notice, and felt a warm affectionate glow of recognition.
