Yeah, we should go out for dinner together. That would be excellent.

I'm deffenitally going. I'll probably end up taking the x10 to madison and hopping on the subway.

Either that, or taking the SI Ferry and catching the subway there.

I'm getting psyched. I've managed to get a friend of mine on the list and we're going to kill anything that moves that doesn't have a friendly nav marker.

nav marker

I don't know what a "nav marker" is, so just don't shoot me anyway....

I tried to scan through this thread, but what are the open questions? PM me or post a list here and I will answer as best I can. I am not sure when I will be there on Thursday.

As for places to meet, what sort of a restaurant are you looking for and what price range?

From Penn Station: the cross town bus is very slow on 34th Street- but if you walk, you go past Macy's and the Empire State building. Just be prepared for crowds on that street. Lots of, um, tourists, tend to clog the sidewalk along with the native New Yorkers.

And don't worry about walking back, you will be safe on 34th street if you choose to do that, or the bus will be running ( unlike the BART, we have 24 hour service on mass transit) . Or you could split a cab.

We are taking a 3:10 train and arriving at Penn station at 4:00ish (little after)

16.50 back and forth and when we get to Penn Station we are meeting up with EvilBurger and some of his friends. From there we will head to the theater where we hope to do some interviews, record the events, and have a good time.

I also am picking up a nice 3-Chip DV camera along with 2 nice Mics for the event. Will be going up to people through the event looking for reactions, storys, adventures, and good times. Ill Post a picture of what to look for and once you see Myself and some of the items we will be wearing you should spot us really easy. So if you see us don't act like an ass on camera but don't be dull. Im so excited for all this w00t!

(sorry for type-Os im at work and busy)

Look for any train that doesn't have an E or a J next to it.

yeah a couple attendees and I have traded cell #s already, but if we could decide on somewhere to meet for food in advance that'd be even better. I know zip about the area or I'd suggest something Smile

Well I have studio until 6, so I can't meet anyone anywhere until at least 6:30, hench Seige's and my plan, but if we can work something out around that...

..so far it seems like the best option is walking from Penn. Anyone know of any closer subways?

restaurants

you guys have to be more specific about what kind of food or place you want...we have so much to choose from and I don't know your budget or taste.

here is a link from zagat's that lists restaurants that are in Murray Hill...you have to subscribe to get the full review, but this should at least give you some ideas....you can google the specific places that sound appealing...sorry I didn't tiny url this.

this place is the closest-- but I have never been there :
El Parador Cafe
325 E. 34th St. (bet. 1st & 2nd Aves.)
New York (212) 679-6812

my price range is not a factor...but i dont necessarily want to eat an expensive meal...i'd say a 15 dollar maximum for me sounds good...but i've never had new york pizza and i hear you can get like a slice and a coke for 3 bucks eh? i might just go that route.

I'll be keeping very close tabs on this thread in the upcoming days/hours, because i don't want to eat alone, so let me know where some of you's decide to eat..please PM me for my cell phone number as well, I already have thunderclap8's number who is going out to eat as well.
