You know what, I have a feeling this won't be worth it. It's only four days before it actually comes out, and it really seems like it's a first come first serve basis. And if they are expecting hundreds of people to come (like you guys from Dallas) it's going to be packed and hardly anyone will get to play for more than a couple rounds.

So I live in Austin and I got a conformation, but where the hell is it at?!? Also, I'm only 16, do you think they will make an exception?
I think I read somewhere that you can bring a parent and get in. Maybe someone asked melissa about that and got the word.

The Austin mission location has changed.
Quote:
Crew member:
Congratulations. Your name has been added to the admission list for
the Austin training event.
Please note that the mission coordinate for the Austin event have
changed! The new location for training is: 2700 W Anderson Lane
Village Shopping Center Austin TX. Arrive at the mission coordinates
between 16:45 – 17:45 Pacific Time and announce your presence to the
attendant, who will check your name against a roster for priority
admission. If you arrive late, admission to and participation in this
exercise cannot be guaranteed. I anticipate considerable demand.
Please remember: You must be 17 or older to attend. ID will be checked.
You may wish to print out this email as confirmation to bring to the
training event.
Also: Now that most members of my loyal crew have reserved
admission, I am more comfortable extending the invitation to new
friends and allies. I would like to give you permission to inform
them of the event. Admission is limited, but if they follow the same
reservation procedures, I will do my best to accommodate and confirm
admission to those who contact me first.

dunno, I figured it would be the alamo drafthouse village. It's in the same basic shopping center area, same address. The point of the thing is to play halo 2 in a movie theater.
HOWEVER, now it doesn't make sense to meet at BW-3, so... Fuddruckers?

the address given is the address for the entire shopping center, Alamo Draft House included. I suspect it will be at the draft house. if you go to their website, it says they are hosting weekly halo 2 tournaments after the game is released, so they are already set up for hosting.

OKay! Change of plans, we have Dinner at Fuddruckers, then.
I guess I'll make a sign or something to put on the table so we can all meet up? Any suggestions?
I say again for clarity, Pre-training dinner is at Fuddruckers

So I just firmed up my schedule and can go now. I emailed Dana / Melissa this morning. Should I risk going down w/o a confirmation email back? What's been everyone's turn around on a reply back.
I'm just being paranoid and all.

Red Fox just posted he couldn't go... Worst case, maybe he'd let you use his reg if you don't hear back in time? Took me about 36 hours to get mine, but I put mine in RIGHT at the start.
It's not like you don't deserve to go, given the amount of time you've put into answering axons.

Anyone coming from College Station? I live in the NW Houston area but work in College Station. I plan to make the journey back to Austin for this event, after going axon hunting there in September. If anyone wants to share the ride from the College Station area, let me know!
Note that I didn't plan to miss work on Thursday, so I'll be leaving after 5 to arrive between 7-7:30 in time to get signed in at the North Austin location. I'm tempted to go early with more axons in Austin on Thurs afternoon but for now still sticking with the plan to leave after 5. Looking forward to the event and meeting lots of Texas Axon hunters!
