Are you coming up for this, Shad0? ???

The odds of my being able to attend are miniscule indeed. I sent Melissa an RSVP anyway -- because I can't think of anything that would make me feel worse than making it up there and then not being able to get in -- but it's looking increasingly unlikely as my attempts to get various things covered/rescheduled remain unsuccessful.

Sorry for the double-post -- and equally sorry for quoting myself -- but I just got the word:

I'M COMIN' UP!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

When I'm ecstatically happy, I do this:

(Of course, that means I'll be on the road, out of any reasonable coverage area, when Melissa the Pious Flea tries to reach me at 11:43 a.m. (PST). Ah, the sacrifices we have to make.)

Congrats Shad0!

Ceantari, I didn't answer the payphone, at least I don't remember answering it Shocked. At the axon near Beale street I was one of the people who arrived last and was last in line to listen so I ended up getting dead air, and at the one near the Chinese Restaurant and Bus Stop I was one of the people looking at the phone in confusion but I got to listen to the replay, it was the axon "Emergency." I was one of the people who stayed behind when a bunch of people piled into a Taxi to get the one nearer to the seaside.

~L.S.

P.S. I re-reread that one post and I meant that having people who could talk smack makes playing the game funnier and thus more fun Embarassed .

Off the topic for a minute here.

They NEVER say it. Which is part of what makes it so impressive. But Jersey's father was on the apcoypso. And if you read the operator monolouges? You find out he had an interesting relationship with Melissa/Durga, which is probably why she likes Jersey so much.

Why do you think Durga won't bring his dad back for him?

But finally: that whole bit where Jersey's mother tells him how his father always loved him....kinda the cincher.

Same reason she won't mess with the records to let Jan enlist early?

Only two things make sense for THAT one. Either she refused to give Jan an easy way out to induce Jan to help her on her mission to the artifact, or she had already begun to consider Jan part of her "Crew" and was looking out for her. Frankly, I consider the latter to be the most likely.

We KNOW its not part of some kind of moral code if she was willing to bankrupt several small countries just to solve Jersey's tax problem.

And it couldn't have been because she has some built in inclination towards the war effort, becuase Jan would have HELPED the war against the covenant.

I will loan you guys a key (to get in to my house) if someone will offer you a ride. I live in Dublin near the 580/680 interchange. Maybe some other beekeeper who can stay to see the movie will feel generous and help you out either with a place or a ride.

We'll my wife and I are playing it all by ear... but we do have to drive back past Dublin on our way home. If we remember to take the car seets out of the back seat I can fit 2-3 people in. But I'm not sure we're staying for the movie. (Kinda tight on $ and this was mostly unexpected)

If we can help though let us know.

That was awesome.

Halo 2 on a goddamn movie screen. Meeting fellow beekeepers. Catching one of the last Axons. Getting to meet the very very cool people behind the whole thing. And I now have a truckload of books to read.

Ok, ok, so I'm wrong. Jersey's dad ISN'T dead. When Melissa herself tells you IN PERSON its kinda hard to argue....

Unbelievably amazing. I didn't play any Halo 2, just hung out with the PMs. They are simply wonderful people. And they really like us, the players. Somehow I thought that they'd be creeps who were just earning a buck, but nothing could be further from the truth.

And Dana went axon hunting with the Berkeley Crew in the beginning. AUGH!

Thank you very much for coming into the IRC channel and shuttling our questions back and forth with the PMs. That was very much appreciated. Smile
