[QUESTION]SP=Yasmine? I don't buy it. Why is the SP now widely accepted (see the Rogue Process Destroyed thread) to be 6 year old Yasime, when Yasmine wouldn't be "processed" to create an AI until she's 14? I've never quite understood this story element, even when Durga finds out her origins. Shouldn't the resurfacing personality be of a teenager?
Keep in mind, by the point she's made an AI, she's already undergone 8 years of training and modifications to make her Spartan suitable. Unless Yasmine herself suffered a psychotic break at age 6, resulting in a suppressed personality, there really isn't anything of the child left by the time she becomes an AI's pattern.
I can probably be convinced.
Probably.

As spec'ced elsewhere, the age of the SP was only assumed to be 6, as that is the age Yasmine was abducted. While the Voice Actress played SP as a little girl, the textual interactions seemed to be older than 6, perhaps early teens.
Minor troutage, so no icon since things have been fairly hectic lately.

Well, If Yasmine "washed out" of the Spartan program at age 14, wouldn't her flashcloned brain for the AI be 14? Hmm?

we are so rehashing previous spec discussion now. I thought the same thing. Fugitivesoldier, and posted questions as such. I got lots of answers that made sense. I wish i could remember the thread, but if anyone wants to discuss this, I suggest we find that thread and read it and continue posting in that one.

Why Flashcloned? It doesn't sound like they would need to have flashcloned Yasmine, as she was almost dead from the Spartanizing.
Spartanizing! Martinizing just makes your clothes like new, the Spartan 2 program will make YOU like new!*
* like it or not!

Before posting this I tried a series of searches on Yasmine, age 6, age 14, SP, etc. and couldn't find that previous spec.
I am quite curious to hear the explanation, as the "genuine" 6 year old appearance is what has won so many posters over to the side of the SP. An ageless machine pretending to be 6 gets a little less sympathy, and a lot more suspicion.

i just figured that the 8 years of rigourous military training day in and day out made her go nuts
the last time Yasmine was alowed to be happy and just be a kid, was the last time she saw her family, when she was 6 years old
many times, people regress to childhood and block out parts of their memory when confronted with extreme emotional stress, i'm spec'ing that Yasmine regressed to her pre-spartan mental state before they took the brain scan... it didn't matter to ONI how mentally stable she was when Melissa was created, because they (theoretically) lock away all the human memories and emotions and supplant them with more military software

Text in red is usually a link. Click the "elsewhere" in my post above for a look at Shad0's take on this.

Emotional 6 year old I agree with CoffeeJedi. While the spartan candidates who turn into AIs do so at age 14, they are broken at age 6. They are put through a super-boot-camp starting at 6 and brainwashed into what they would become. Those who survived the treatments became single-minded automatons with no emotional development, just the ability to constantly suppress emotions. Those who cracked and were turned into AIs seem to have a similar bent-- cold and efficient, till they go rampant, then their inner child comes to play. So their normal persona is the 14-year old machine; the last stage of emotional development, the only one that could surface, would be the 6 year old.
Of course, Cortana would be a different matter altogether.

Oops, sorry Johnny. I guess it's time to get this monitor replaced. I honestly couldn't see the difference in text color.
Thanks.
Hmm . . . actually I don't think I want to hijack that thread, so I'll keep posting my questions about the pureed mind of a 14 year old super soldier here.
