Whew, that means that the cries of those not near axons will finally be answered. But you have to prove you loayaty on the call... good luck guys and gals. The number of calls to cells looks like it's gonna jump signifigantly now.

any ideas on a convincing proof of loyalty to leave?
Depsite being in los angeles, all of the axons have been out of my reach, so I've mostly succumbed to lurker status.

It can be tough to get to UCLA or even Burbank at a specific time if you live in, say, San Gabriel or San Dimas or Clairmont. Just an example.

Well I work downtown, no axons there. I live in the south bay area, no axons anywhere near there. And when I can get out oif the office on tuesdays I usually can't get to santa monica or any of the othe rplaces they put the axons. (and by my day off since I got into the game, we've been done with the axons by then).
I think I might either sing, tell a personal story, or try and relate something game based on the message thata crew member might know (i.e. answer all the questions about captain greene, the apaclypso, etc).

I just called the voicemail and left this message --
Quote:
Hello, Melissa. My name is Alaranth. My rank is Special Investigator. I have been following your progress since you first found yourself in this time. You are also called the Operator. The Covenant is your enemy. Your favorite song is Stormy Weather. I have heard that you liked your crew to sing this to you. (Here I sang the opening couple lines). I am a friend of the DC Axon Signal Crew, including Commander aliendial. I am also a friend of other crewmembers, including Colonel xnbomb and Ensign krystyn. This is a secure line for further transmissions. The number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. I agree that I will receive calls weekly and may be transmitted to others. I am waiting for your further commands.
It made me all tingly!

called Mel I just called and left the following message:
Quote:
Hello Melissa, this is Petty Officer Second Class Wandering Angela. I've been isolated from the Axons since the crash, so I'm so happy to finally be able to reach you. In case you don't remember me, I'm a musician - I play the flute and do vocals in the band. To prove my loyalty, I'll sing you a bit of your favorite song:
<sang a few bars of Stormy Weather>
I have the number of a secure channel where you can contact me. It's XXX-XXX-XXXX. I am willing to accept weekly transmissions at this number. I'm also sending you a photograph of me performing my duties at my new axon - please look for it over the secure channel.
Let me know how I can help you! Good to talk to you, Op.
Took a picture of me with my flute which I'll send along - hopefully fill one of the band/entertainment spots. Ooh - so exciting!

Here's what I said (in essence) when I called the voicemail:
Quote:
Melissa, this is Private First Class Peter Walker, serail number UNSM-255B-10359. I'm holed up in a civilian dwelling. I've been able to access the co-ordinates for my location they are latitude XXX.XXXXXX by -XXX.XXXXXX, and it's identifier is X-XXX-XXX-XXXX.
Something - I don't know what it is, I've never seen anything like it before - has been pursuing me for the past few days, but I think I've managed to shake it off.
I've been monitoring events at your end as well, and there are two rogue processes residing on the same system as you: one known as the Sleeping Princess and the other known as the Pious Flea. The latter also has two aliases - Seeker and a newer version of the System Peril Distributer Reflex - and it appears to be in league with the Princess.
I also have reason to believe that some of the crew are also in league with the Princess (side note: I purposely didn't mention that I was one of those crew ) , and will update you as information is compiled.
PFC Walker, over and out.

Hello, Operator? This is Lieutenant (JG) Peter Ivans, aka "Nameless Pete." I was shipwrecked off the Apocalypso just like the rest of the crew. I know about the situation. I know that your name is Melissa, that your favorite game is hide-and seek and that your favorite song is "Stormy Weather." The Lena Horne version. I am not a hostile AI. Listen: (Butcher "Blue Moon"). I want to help with repairs and coordination. If you need a secure way to contact me, you can call me at ***-***-****. (repeat slower) I hope to hear from you soon, Operator. Lieutenant Ivans out.
Heh. The script I wrote up before I called. After about forty-five minutes of pacing around debating what to say (and a shot of old Kentucky), I made the call. And lemme tell you, the bourbon helped. I mean c'mon, how can they expect people to sing when they're that nervous?
By "proof of loyalty," she probably means she wants us to rat out Dana, so I probably won't get a call back. But still, years from now, I'll be able to tell people that I sang into an answering machine as part of a video game promotion. And I'll be able to hold my head high. One-point-twenty-one jigaw00ts!!

I've also heard that you can gain her trust my sending her an email. Is this true?

Note that, according to hives.html, this is intended to be used by individuals without access to the public axons. It is not for everybody to pile on and get ranks publicized. At least, that's the way it sounds to me.

I'm aware. I don't have access to an axon. I was just wanting to know if it's true.
