Yeah... I might just end up wearing my high factory cardboard/foam/bondo master chief suit if I can figure out how to get it from Idaho to SF... I will also bring my controller I just custom bondoed... (btw I just figured out how to use bondo and I am out of control!!!)

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums but I'm most definetly a beekeeper. I got my confirmation from Dana on Sunday morning and I just got around to seeing if anyone else out there was going. I'm glad to see that there will be a good turnout Smile

I should arrive in SF (From Livermore) Sometime around 4pm. I'm getting off work at 2pm, driving all the way back (From Sunnyvale) to Pleasanton to drop off my car a BART station I trust and getting on the train.

If all goes according to plan, I should be running around the Metreon wearing a Halo sweatshirt and Halo 2 backpack. I'm essentially just going to meet some cool cats in the area so I'll make an effort to greet a bunch of people.

As for something to do after the event? If you cross the bridge/overpass from the Buena Garden (The awesome little park with the waterfall right outside the Metreon) there is a nice little bowling alley. Thats always an option if people feel more like just doing something than going out for a bite.

Also, if anyone needs help around the area, I've been to the Metreon a billion and a half times. I'm totally down for helping anyone out.

Well, maybe just a UF logo and your name?

I really like the name tag idea, aliendial. Ceantari was talking about something like this on Sunday, before all our axons. Maybe she could whip something up with her l33t photoshop skillz. Razz

I just put together my avatar with the UF logo (the one up to the left there) in Paint and printed them out. An odd size but as the primary purpose is just to help figure out who everyone is, it doesn't need to last long.

Guys...for some reason I saw 27 locations in the beekeepers update email. However, Dana's blog is not working now. Could someone tell me the locations or point me to a site that has everything Dana said in her update about this? Thank you.

I'm assuming you're talking about the SF axons, of course.

I guess the cat's outta the bag...
(courtesy of Ranger D for telling me)

The article mentioned of a "lanyard", would that be similar to those cords you get in high school? A honorable mention or recognition?

Laughing

I got this link off unfiction, and I may or may not have been the person to have given it to Ranger_D. That is: I know I sent it, but he may have found it somewhere else first, since I didn't send it until about 1 hour after it was posted by vpisteve here.

I just hope that there won't be 5 billion people there without the slightest clue of bees. Here's hoping that confirmation emails are strictly enforced.

Now I wish I took the whole day off for this =X

I know Ceantari is the talented one here (and please let me know if you made something and I will back down), but, with a little help, I made a logo for the SF Killer Bees that I plan to print onto stickers, complete with a space at the bottom for people to write their names. I hope everyone will wear one to show local pride. Smile

I think we should all meet beforehand, around 5:30, maybe at the 4th Street Bar and Deli, directly across Mission Street from the Metreon. What do you think? I think it is interesting that on the url I send, they list their address as 777 Market Street. Buh? It must be a sign! Wink

I should be arriving at the Metreon around 2:00-2:30pm. I almost considered just taking the day off so I could help with the Axon's through the day, but I"m really pushing my job status with a half day =X

Anyways, if anyone wants to meet up, or if there are any smaller gatherings around that time, I'd appreciate it if someone would AIM or email me (CornerTrapSPLATGmail.com).

Oh, and heres a pic just in case-

I'd be happy to wear one, or seven Very Happy. Also, since we're all out there until pretty late and I'll still be celebrating my 21st Bday I'd like to invite everyone to watch the midnight show of "The Incredibles" at the Metreon with me. Pay your own way though Wink .

thanks all!
