As promised, here's our first submission from our good friend "The Guin"

The Guin wrote:

Please allow me to throw my 'hat' in the ring for the date with Phaedra.

My case for a date with Phaedra:

I'm a cool, swanky guy living in Somewhere, USA. I'm clean (mostly) and quite the romantic. Plus, we may have a lot in common - she likes football, I like cheerleaders. She lives in Wisconsin, I like hunting cute furry things. You get the drift.

Age: The 25-34 yo range.
Job: Yes, please.
Education: University of Hard Knox
Car: Someday, someday....
Languages: Well, just English for now, but I'm really trying hard to learn l33t.
IQ: Intelligence is overrated. Looks like she would have enough for both of us.
Favorite books: I don't read. Anyway, looks like she would read enough for both of us.
Favorite movies: Anything with big explosions and/or flatulence jokes (South Park R0X0R3D!!!)
Favorite music: I like the classics (Loverboy, Night Ranger, Men Without Hats,...)
Favorite decor: The theme of my efficiency is fake animal fur and neon lights.
Favorite conversation topics: Me.
Hobbies: ARG's (duh), staring at my own image in the mirror (see favorite conversation topics), feeding my pet snake and tarantula, my XBox.
Bad habits: Chewing tobacco. Which means spitting. Lots. (I'm trying to quite, honest!)

Where I would take Phaedra on a date: Fishing. Hunting would be a fourth date, sorry.
Wedding: Yeah, like I'm supposed to lift a finger planning that one.
Our wedding reception: All class - my local firehall is gorgeous.
Our honeymoon: VEGAS, BABY, VEGAS!!!
Kids?: If I have to. I have enough elsewhere.

Looking forward to it! (stocks up on breath spray in anticipation).

The Guin

Now Phaedra, no fair signing up as a new subscriber to submit a ringer, we want this to be a fair contest. Razz

Wow. Phaedra, I think this one is a keeper. Hehehe, any movie with flatulence jokes. This is definitely someone's 'dream guy'.

I am keeping hope alive that the DVDs will last through another name-drawing and I show up at the top of the list. Come on, Santa, make it happen.

3 Gmail invites to give to friendly beekeepers!

I don't know if it really fits here, but as a swag lottery I figured it was close:

I have 3 Gmail invites to give away, and I thought who better to give them to than some other beekeepers?

So, if you're interested, send me a PM with your email address, and I'll send the invites out in order of PM receipt.

(Assuming I get more than 3 invites, I'll keep a record, and if/when I get more invites (weeks or months?) I'll send you one)
I'll post here again when they are gone to save needless PMing Wink

Okay - LouMac has pointed out an already present thread here for Gmail invites.
My apologies - I am an idiot Rolling Eyes

<dreamy sigh> If only he'd spoken up during the marriage proposal madness, Astald.

Well, not at the top of the list, farva, sorry, but you are *on* the list.

It's actually going to be a PM, and you'll get it shortly.

How do you get gmail invites? I use gmail for about 2 months now and I never had any invites to distribute ...

I got 6 invites for just signing up. I don't see how you don't have any.

Got my DVD in the mail yesterday - I nearly missed the letter inside, too. I really appreciated it, put a smile on my lips and made it all feel even more worth it. I'm keeping the letter in the same compartment as the DVD, and I'll be sure to have it there as a keepsake. Very Happy

I've got six invites I can give out if anyone would really like one. I might want to save one or two, but the rest are up for grabs. Just PM me about it.

why the heck is gmail so popular? aside from being free email... it's like a huge fad, this whole gmail invite thing... aside from having a free email address with lots of space, is there any other bonus benefit for using gmail?

I've got loads of emails, a bunch with rogers, a couple with hotmail, and a couple at work... is the possibility of gmail as well for me just redundant? or is there something unique about it?
