I think danteGA's almost got the Halsey sequence down; can someone verify that there's a comma after swabsticks or before monitors? I don't see it in thebruce's compilation, which I'm taking as canon. I think if we verify punctuation, we'll be able to get a good lockdown on what sentences go where; some of them seem interchangeable.

C'mon! Where's the fun in that Smile

It's the fun of friendly comradeship, of a people joining hands together, uniting the world in harmony and the drinking of Coca-Cola. Now let us pass the warm gingerbread cookies and affirm each other's uniqueness.

Guys, I think we got it. Between danteGA's Halsey part, The Doctor's Princess part, and the rest being the Flea's log of the call/WAV of the Princess dying... seems good to me. Is there anything that needs tweaking?

Do you think this solves this phrase?

/Into lab 7. Wait. Tongue depressors, swabsticks/ monitors. Wait. Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to—Footsteps in the hall/

Okay, so are people comfortable with danteGA's answer, then. The only thing that gets me is the bit at the beginning -- it doesn't seem to flow right, and would you really smell formaldehyde *before* you got into the lab? But it seems to fit better than anything else...

I'd put

Quote:

"Don't worry, she says. The queenly smile. This will hardly hurt a bit. I promise "

at the very end.[/quote]

continuation

How about moving smell of formaldehyde to the beginning of the story.

i think you would for 2 reasons

1) the bio dept at my college REEKS... the hallways smell of formaldehyde all the time

2) Spartans have heightened senses, they can probably tell what chemicals are in the air just by smelling, they could smell poison fumes from far away
