I asked the historical society about the high school student who was asking about some secret journals they had here is my reply:

I'm afraid I could not. I just remember this girl mentioning it once a few
years back. I don't even recall her name. She was just doing a small project
for school

I asked the historical society what they meant by "dark times" in a previous email. This was my reponse:

As I said, there were some vague references, but nothing specific. It was
just something the student mentioned, something about a couple of different
residents from different time periods mentioning living through "dark
times".
