she "goes nuts and screams all the stuff we saw on ILB" because that's a part of her, and being the first major fracture that happened in the split, when being reintegrated, it's like quickly running through fastforward reintegrating all the ILB events into her self. It doesn't mean she was living in 30 seconds what we experienced over 3 months, as in our 3 months = her 30 seconds. It does mean, IMO, that the 3 months of our time, from her 3 months from crash to artifact, were being added to her future self.

that's quite a paragraph. dunno how better to say it Smile

The only important question is this: can it make me a sandwhich?

I think you're missing the key aspect of my theory. It can't make you a sandwich, but it can bring a pre-made sandwich out of Toasterspace. Toasted, of course.

Skyhawk can make you a sandwich, but it won't be a Forerunner sandwich.

What's the general endgame consensus on the Artifact after hearing/reading Chapter 12?

Are we saying it's a fun-size Halo, but with the same wipe-out-all-life powers of the planet-size model?

Are there itty bitty lifeforms inside the ring when/if we open the lid?

And why was that moon called Threshold anyway? Who's on the other side?

Edit: As TuxKamen says here
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7850&start=13
The itty bitty Halo could curiously be a Halo Remote Control (as powerful as the Index-Library reunification?)
The Flea is bringing the Cov to come find it. Curiously this fleet of Cov may not actually know they've stumbled across the legendary Earth! "We were just looking for artifacts, honest!" But they're sure to get word out to the Planetary Decommisioning Squadron.

speccy [SPEC] on flea

Idea So if

- the Flea's mission was to reveal the location of the artifact,

- he was able to deduce that turning OFF the timer would send another pulse, and convinced Team Jersey to do so,

- rampant speculation suggests the timer, had it gone off, might have triggered the galaxy's Halo network and wiped out all sentient life,

Then maybe we shouldn't be so hard on that little piece of (now deleted) Covie code. Sure, he may have led the Covenant armada to Earth and we're now all fighting for our lives, but if the timer had gone off we might not have that luxury.

Right. Time to get one of these Xbox thingys and save the Earth.

Except the entity that figured out how to turn off the timer was Melissa, who faked the sound file between McKaskill and Herzog that gave Rani the information needed to relay that to the rest of the team.

In my opinion, the Flea was Seek Behold Reveal and nothing else. Neither good nor bad in itself, but we can still judge the reprecussions of its mission.

When I tracked the Princess, I found traces of the Flea—valuable information about how the artifact could be revealed… but I had no way to get that information to Durga.

The flea was gathering information about the artifact to relay to the Covies.
Melissa used that to fake the "triangles lines dots" conversation.
