Email from Dana 11/2

This will be going up in more detail in the Swag Lottery thread, but...

I emailed Dana to try to find out if there would be souvenir-type items or t-shirts available at the event, or if the DVDs were it.

I received this in response.

Hi Phaedra!
Wow, you guys are so organized and take such good care of each other.
That's amazing and Very Cool.
I don't have total information about what's going to happen on
Thursday (and I am excited! and nervous! and curious! ... just like
you guys). Melissa hasn't mentioned to me anything other than the
communications logs, if that helps you figure out how to organize
things with crew members who can't train with us.
Good luck.

So, my SPEC would be that the event is being handled by Bungie or Microsoft, and they haven't given the PMs all the details on merchandise or freebies.

Either that, or they're just enjoying being mysterious. I hope it's the former, because it makes my job more difficult. Sad

or Dana just doesn't want to say anything about Halo 2, as that would be decidedly OOG for her Smile

Re: Email from Dana 11/2

Speaking of OOG...When I wrote to Dana to let her know that I could drive up to San Francisco tomorrow after all, she replied:

Yay! so exciting. I had a feeling you would make it. I still remember
the day that Melissa started calling the axons live... there was 100%
NO WAY you could make it to your regular Axon... and then, of course,
you did! and you told Melissa that terrible-wonderful joke!
Isn't this what the Sleeping Princess did when she was insufferably
pleased with herself, ho ho? :p I hope you are :p-ing tonight.

I am sharing this, not because I feel compulsively compelled to post every interaction I have with Dana, but because the only place I told that story (about having absolutely no chance of making it to any axons on the day we hit 777/777) was here in the forums. I never mentioned it in an e-mail, or on Dana's blog, or really anywhere else but here. So I guess this is official In-Character confirmation that Dana has been reading at least some of these posts. Mr. Green

(For the record, I agree that Dana isn't exactly likely to start talking about Halo 2 multiplayer all of a sudden, forum-lurking notwithstanding.)

Embarassed Gee, thanks for the compliment, but not really. See, for example, this thread -- and it's not the only one -- for lots of other folks to whom Dana has been equally delightful.

Being a PM favorite is not exclusive (I hope!). Wink It just feels that way.
