It'll probably come down to the DVD itself... if it reads copyright anywherem then it is. If it doesn't, it's not.

Profit or no, unless the material is explicitly placed into the public domain (which it hasn't been) then it would be copyright infringement.

<edit>No, it doesn't matter whether the DVD says it's copyrighted or not. People just add that as a reminder - original material is automatically copyrighted.</edit>

Correct me if I'm wrong, if it was some sort of hallucination, but I thought I read somewhere that there was a wav released way too early, back in the day. Wasn't that everyone_gone? When I listened to it, I remembered it. Like deja-vu. Remember someone talking about it.

Am I crazy?

Sadly, a search for "everyone_gone" (with underscore) only turns up 1 post... and it's yours.

But, thanks for speaking up.

Yeah, I searched before I posted... It was probably just some sort of weirdness on my part... Seems to happen quite frequently, too.

I think the thing to do is very simple. When a person is given the DVD, just ask the person handing it to you if this is something you would be able to copy and redistribute. They should be able to tell you very easily if this is something that is supposed to be limited or if they just didn't want to ship out thousands of them for free on their own.

In other news, I think Jersey is dead. Durga sent his mom to a safe place and Rani was on her way somewhere safe, but she just tried to distract Jersey and told him to take a nap. She knows she can't save him so she isn't trying. "Just be with me." Sounds like something you would say if someone were about to die and there was nothing anybody could do about it.

Kamal is also probably toast. Jan's 1.1 buddy specifically said he had contingencies in place so he will likely save her and possibly even Gladys and Gilly.

I think he's referring to the instance of a_plan that showed up incorrectly, in the place of proposition.wav. The PMs made the mistake, and they corrected it within 5 or 6 minutes... but everyone constantly refreshing noticed that mistake... a_plan was from before the attack on Chawla, ie, a flashback if it was meant to be there, which it wasn't Razz

I spent some time checking the Halo2 commercial and the blast looks centered around the Los Angeles area, the would be a better target than the Bay Area anyways. With a big enough blast, it could reach all the way to Berkely, but that is over 300 miles.

I wonder if the old teaser trailer should be considered canon. The one where the MC jumps out of the cargo bay, and you can see nukes going off all over Earth. If it's part of the game, then most of the planet looks like it gets glassed, but it may have just been for visual effect since it was such an early trailer.

Nope, that wasn't it. Just my mind playing tricks on me.

The question is: Does a planet getting glassed really look like what we've seen in trailers? What we know from First Strike is that the Covenant have "planet-buster" bombs with incredible destructive force, enough to blow up much of a Covenant fleet even though an individual Covie warship can withstand multiple nuclear explosions easily.

If the Covies were "glassing" Earth, their bombs would be much bigger than the "nukes" we see exploding in Halo trailers. There shouldn't be lots of little explosions on North America, there should be one big blast glassing most of the continent. Instead, in the Halo trailers, we see dozens of explosions all over the Earth. We've also seen a shot of an explosion in a city - a bus goes flying past the camera, but the city appears to remain standing at the end of the trailer.

I think the Covenant are attacking Earth with their equivalent of tactical-scale weapons. Like on Reach, they are searching for a Forerunner artifact on Earth. And for that reason, they are not willing to glass Earth - they are using smaller bombs to destroy our defenses.

The events of the X02 trailer don't happen in the game (well, not as depicted, at least), so disregard them. About hte explosion, it is in the space elevator in New Mombasa, which is located in Africa.

I am glad Bungie decided to make it so, I wouldn't bear another game/movie in which the U. S. is the center of the world.
