What happens to the Haunted Apiary when it's all over?

To repeat the topic title, what happens to the Haunted Apiary when ILB is over? How long will it be here after ILB ends? Could it possibly just turn into a place where we talk about Halo 2?

I'm concerned about something like this. If The Haunted Apiary just goes away, then who am I going to talk about Halo 2 with? I'm sure as hell not going over to GameFAQs. I'd rather stick around here and talk with the people who participated in ILB.

Should I even be worrying about something like this?

I was wondering this, too. I hope it stays around for a while, for Halo 2 talk, and for a bank of memories. I'm not sure who will come back after this week is over, but I'll stick around for a while as long as there are still some beekeepers around.

SpaceBass would move the entire ILB posts into the archives section where we can STILL post and keep in touch. Some of the community will move away into other interests in life. Others will stay, become a part of new ARGs. A *LOT* of the cameraderie and friendship will scatter to the winds.

But the memories of what we have done together, laughed and cried together will stay in our hearts forever.

Somewhat off topic, but in the general interest of "After the game is over" sentiment:

A warrior wears medals and other souvenirs of battle as a reminder and a badge of honor, right?

What if every ARG had a small(say, 64x64 or 32x32) "badge" picture that a person would be welcome to put in their signature/on their webpages/etc to indicate participation in ARGs gone by? I think it woudl be neat to be browsing a completely unrelated forum, or a webpage, and see that someone was a part of Bees.

That or an ARG geek code, but I dunno about that.

It would be great if a few years from now, everyone who participated in this ARG still got together online to talk about it, like people do about The Beast. It owuld be a great sense of belonging to something huge (which this was, as the 1000+ calls answered Monday proved).

When I've encountered people on line from known axon locations & they ask where I'm from, I initially respond w/ my axon coords. So far all I've drawn is '???'s, but I expect eventually to run into someone who responds w/, oh say a question about my captain's name.

I for one have run into some solidly good people here, and it's a big part of why I've enjoyed this so much. I certainly would look forward to running into them again in another ARG, or just crossing paths somehow.

Yeah, same here. I just got in on teh ILB thing here at teh end, not enough time in my life to really get involved but a really cool thing. How do you find about them early on, so I could get involved? Are there any getting started now? or starting soon? Or is that the whole adventure, disconvering them as you go?
I know lots of questions, but as had been said beofre
I am a very curious gir...er...boy...

I have a nice story to relate.

Tonight at the Webster, NY, DVD cache, i walked in a little before 9:00. there were already some 20 people there, none of whom i had ever seen in the fForums, at the phones, or in chat. fFanboys, all. Not that there's anything wrong with that .. Wink

so anyway. eventually alaranth shows up, and soon after, nate arrives. ahhh, fField tested axon hunters. and, well, they walked right up to me. we've only really met a couple times, in truth. but here we were, sharing a like mind, and commiserating of our own nature.

So, i think the beekeepers will remain very much in contact, with a very strong mutual think-pool.
